Kismat Indian Restaurant
Posted by Alejandra on 05/24/2011
I absolutely loved this place. There aren't very many Indian restaurants in this neighborhood, so it's wonderful to have a place that will deliver to my area. The food is good and the service is really pleasant, courteous, and probably one of the best ordering experiences around here. I've never eaten in, but I definitely recommend. They'll deliver as far down as 155th street from river to river, so it's a really good option for those of us at the top of Harlem, bottom of Washington Heights.

Its not my favorite Indian food, but it will do just fine. Vindaloo, which is my all time favorite dish, should be skipped here. However, all the vegetarian dishes Ive tried are pretty good and the naan and meat samosas are delicious. So, don't order Vindaloo. Order Vegetarian....which I never usually recommend.

The Mater Paneer - Peas in a tomatoe sauce with cheese cubes is the most bland flavorless Mater Paneer I have ever had - it seems like it's old - I'd say there is better for the same price and the decor has the ugliest green and maroon colors ever.

I used to go to this place back in the day when they were on Broadway. I think the food is excellent. We've since moved and we still make the treck down from Westchester. To people who say - "I'm not Indian but....this isn't authentic, or this is really Bangladeshi....." get a life. It's great food. Only negative - tables are a little packed in.
