As a Washington Heights resident, I have to say that Kismat often saves the day. When I am really in the mood for going out to eat, but not in the mood for the regular crowd of latin fare, fried chicken and pizza, (or making a trek south) Kismat is the place. Great food, great service, good value. AND, Indian food in the neighborhood. I hope they never leave.

Suprised to find an Indian restaurant of such quality in the Dub Heights Area. I've eaten at several Indian restaurants "downtown" and I would say that this one's tied for the best.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years, following them to each location that they moved to from Queens to now Manhattan. The food is awesome, the service is good and I have not been to an indian restaurant yet that compares to the quickness, comfort and taste and I am indian. This is a place for all ethnicities to enjoy not so spicy food but they can make it that way if you ask.
