Great indian food at fair prices
Fast friendly delivery. Very good food. Nice sized portions with several extra items (Dal, Cabbage, Chutneys) provided with each delivery. A true gem of a neighborhood favorite.

Not good enough
I tolerate this Indian restaurant because there is no other in my neighbourhood. The first time I ordered out, it took them almost 2 hours. They said there was a car accident, so ok. This time, they took an hour and a half. The food was soggy and cold by the time it got to me. Seriously, if it wasn't one of two Indian restaurants in my area, I would never order from here again.

THE best Indian
Whoever said this wasn't the best Indian food, must not know their Indian. It is NORTHERN Indian food, and it is fabulous! Worth the trip from wherever you live! Decor is a little cheesy, but it's quiet and clean, and the staff is friendly. My fave is the Tandoori shrimp, but everything I've had is great.

The best
Affordable and delicious. Service is always excellent. Way better than East 6th. Recommended: aloo paratha, all kurma and malai dishes, lamb rogan josh is especially well done.

Consistently Good Indian
We've taken out, as well as eaten in the restaurant many times and it is very consistent--consistently good. Unfortunately it so consistently good that I rarely try anything new. The atmosphere needs work but it can be easily overlooked by what counts--the food. Worth the trip if you're schlepping. We're fortunate enough to have 1 Indian restaurant in Washington Heights and it happens to be a very good one.

excellent value; less oily than others
I think this place is an excellent value given how much food you get (beyond the rice, each entree comes with very good dal, mildly curried cabbage, and two little tubs of green chutney & spicy chutney). It's close to thali-level quantities. This applies to takeout also -- for $9.20 (after tax) I got more food than I could eat. The mushrooms were fresh, not canned, and I also love that it was less oily than any other Indian I've had in this price range.

Okay
Waitstaff was terrific but food was average. Too much garlic in my chicken kurma dish. I liked how they sliced the naan though and the vegetable samosa's were very good.
