Kismat Indian Restaurant

i've been eating here for years, and have a few dishes picked out, but i take other reviewers' constructive criticisms as fact as well. the spicing is timid, the sauces often muddled and inconsistent. These can be easily remedied with a bit of reflection and effort. The food is also more Bangladeshi, and need to keep that in mind. All in all, the place can improve, and i think easily so, but well worth having around.

this restaurant is wonderful. I love the food and the service is great, would recommend this to anyone who like Indian food as much as I do.

Being a lover of Indian food, know good from bad, having had authentic home cooking/eaten in India all over/eaten at a zillion restaurants, have to say the meal i ordered for delivery recently was perhaps the best example of mediocre, confused, and how NOT to make indian food i've had in a decade. Maybe it was an off meal, but seeing how it was made I doubt it. Just because there's no other Indian restaurant in the area doesn't mean you can stop trying or assume your customers will tolerate it because they have no choice. Overall the entire meal was disappointing. The veg korma (kurma), garlic naan & appetizers were tasteless and not fresh. Naan was gummy, oily, topped with chopped garlic from those bottles (not fresh or yummy). Korma was just weird, unbalanced flavor, heavy/oily, not delicious, and only 3 little balls were given. Mixed appetizers were lame, a over fried veg fritter, an ok banana fritter, a veg samosa that was acceptable. Sides given- dal and shredded cabbage, greasy and flavorless. Good side is prices are great, delivery quick and friendly! Too bad it doesn't make up for lousy food made without love or fresh ingredients Oy vey!

I love this place. The food is great; it's by far some of the best Indian food in the city, plus the servers are nice. -- You will definitely be glad that you went there.
