worth the trip
We do take out here and drive over to pick it up ourselves from williamsburg. the prix fix menu is awesome and great value. lots of veg selections. one dinner feeds each of us for 2 meals. it also doesn't hurt that it's def. the best indian food in the 'brownstone' brooklyn area. they are fast, friendly and never mess up an order. big up!

Delicious!
Best Indian food in Brooklyn. Delicate balance of flavors, fresh ingredients. The samosas are life changing.

They're all right
My first ever review and I'm compelled to give Kinara its props. Awesome food plain and simple. It's been one year and I get it about once a week. It's not just the quality and tenderness of the meat, it's the sauce. They make some really superior sauce. Dip your naan in it.

Solid Indian Food
Indian food in Brooklyn is very hit and miss. Just moved to FtGreene neighborhood within the last few months, finally got a chance to try it out. All previous reviews are very accurate: if you eat in, the decor/atmosphere is very bland but the restaurant was packed sunday evening. The service seems very laid back, which is fine if you know about it ahead of time. I did take out since i live across the street. Ordered the chicken saagwala, garlic naan, and daal for the wife, i tried the prix-fixe combo of Ka-choris, chicken vindaloo. Saagwala was a nice consistency, good combination of spinach and sauce. i prefer the yellow daal as opposed to the brown lentil daal Kinara has. Naan is not great here, a little too doughy. Vindaloo was a thicker sauce than i am used to, but the heat finally caught up after a few bites. the chicken in both dishes was very tender so that is a nice change. the unexpected highlight was the Ka-choris. Never had this before, the potato part was super tasty, even though the chickpeas probably just came out of the can in the fridge, the combination of ingredients was awesome. Overall, this isn't a brooklyn version of Dhaba; but if you want indian food you can count on, don't hesitate to go here. I know i'll try it again!

Best Indian Period
Best Indian Food in Brooklyn!!! Been to numerous Indian restaurants in brooklyn and new jersey and this is number one. Only caveat is their regular curry which isnt that good but I feel its low on flavor to be acceptable to Americans. Besides that the Tikki Masalla and Rogan Josh are amazing!

Glad I finally tried it!
Based on good online reviews, I finally tried this neighborhood place. I picked up takeout myself (was in the area) and I can't say I'd necessarily want to stay to eat there -- the restaurant was clean and well kept, but definitely lacking atmosphere (e.g. playing 1010 WINS radio...). The people working were friendly and polite though and the food was GREAT. The chana masala was not too oily, had great flavor, and some good spice without me even requesting 'spicy' (so I am sure one could get an even hotter dish on request). I found the samosas a little heavy, but that may just be personal preference. Big portions (2-3 meals for me from one appetizer and one main) and good value.

RUN, don't walk, or really call it in!
Eat here, either order in or pop over for take-out at least once a week, the food is consistently FANTASTIC! Former London girl, love Indian and this is the spot, as far as I am concerned. The 12dollar Prix Fixe is an amazing value, the food makes for two meals, easily. Chana saag is very fluffy and filled with loads of spinach, lamb isnt greasy, naan is perfect texture. Its my frist meal back whenever I get back into the city after a work stint out of country or in the 'burbs.
