took a friend to kiku last night for a celebratory meal and it was basically an expensive disaster. completely inept service. warm white wine that was problematic to return, and stuck on the check anyway until i refused to pay for it. no ice water on a very hot night, endless wait for replacement wine, things requested - i.e. lemon, morez chopsticks - never came at all. we ordered an all seafood and sushi dinner - none of it was bad, but none of it was great; the seared salmon 'carpaccio' was overcooked and basically just pieces of seared salmon in a dull sauce; the oysters were miniscule and unexciting; the sashimi cut so large it lost its delicacy. the 'special' dinosaur roll was out and out inedible, so heavily breaded it could have come from nathan's on coney island. we were unhappy. very. when the check came the waitress actually put it down with 2 hershey's kisses and said "these are on the house.' ! highlight of the evening, at least we got a laugh. but will never return. not recommended!

Favorite sushi in the Slope hands down! Reviews here seem to be from when Fifth Avenue Kiku was in their old space, small and sweet but a bit of a hole in the wall. The new space is much larger and manages to be both elegant and comfortable - it works for a special evening out or just a lovely any-time meal. The fish is superlative in freshness and the presentation delicate and sparkling. Lovely creative plating - with flowers and ice and all sorts of pretty additions - and sashimi orders cut into two smaller pieces rather than 1 huge ungainly hunk of fish, much better. Beautiful rolls, freshest fish, excellent toro and uni! On top of great food, Kiku has consistently friendly and quick service, fair pricing and two dollar wine and sake nights on Thursday - 5 Stars all around, highly recommended, always on point.

Numerous times we have ordered in: Shrimp tempura roll, spicy crunchy shrimp roll (not on the paper menu we have but they do make it) and Avocado/cucumber roll. Consistently tasty. Also I recommend the green tea mochi desserts.

I order every time and always enjoy the fresh sushi. I also enjoy the miso soup. The food is the same every time, I can always count on a good meal here.

I've been ordering takeout from Kiku for so long now, I figured it was time to write a review. I've been so happy with the service and quality at Kiku that it is the only sushi restaurant I'll order from for take out. The sushi is consistently fresh, delicious and delivered promptly, and the service I've received is always polite, prompt and pleasant. I hope they stick around because they are truly a jewel of Park Slope.

I love this place! My boyfriend and I have ventured to many sushi places in NYC and this one is by bar our favorite. Try the peanut avacado rolls and the rock shrimp among many other great selections!!

This place has been consistently good over the past several years. Good quality fish makes the standard rolls/sushi/sashimi well worthwhile. It's hit and miss on the special rolls: i.e., Kiku roll, amazing; Dragon Roll(s), disappointing. The miso soup is not too salty, the edamame are always plump, and the few times I've tried any other hot food (gyoza, etc.) it hasn't disappointed. Service is always nice when I've eaten-in as well.
