Great place for a large group!

All around enjoyable experience - we will take all of our friends here. We had six in our party so were able to sample many things, as it was served family style. Everything was fantastic, especially all the items from the Robata grill. We all had a different favorite - among them the Beef Tartare, Bibimbop, Pork Ribs and MOCHI. And the more traditional Japanese fare was very good as well. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the brussel sprouts.

    Fun time and great food

I had a lovely time with here friends last week. The bimimbop was awesome, loved the beef tartare, the sushi was fresh and tasty. Love this place, glad it's in the neighborhood.

    Not great

Came here with a few friends a couple of weeks ago. Though the restaurant is very nice, the place was practically empty..not sure if this was due to the holidays but probably not a good sign. The food overall (both the appetizers and main meal) was very mediocre. The only good thing was the miso cod. I think if the menu was re-worked this place could have a fighting chance, but I would not recommend going here.

    Not recommended

My husband and I dine out quite frequently. Over the years I have been at pretty much every BR Guest restaurant. This was by far the most disappointing. The food was ok, but extremely overpriced and tiny portions. Even worse was the service! Our waitress was not friendly, took forever to bring our drinks, and brought out some courses for only half the table. Do not waste your money! Many other amazing dinners to try in the area...

    Average Across the Board

I am starting to think this location must be cursed. Japonais was average at best, and Kibo (owned by BR Guest but identical decor) is worse. I think Robuchon should be embarrassed to have lent his name to the menu, which was not at all inventive but typical BR Guest.

    Asian/Indian Fusion

Sunday night 7:30 PM. Five tables taken in a 300 seat space. Ordered four apps:cauliflower and edemame w/curry and cilantro;tuna tataki-like plate w/mayo and lemon drizzle;shrimp and asparagus skewer (3 skewers on plate) and shashito peppers in panko deep fry; sushi rolls. Service good; decor good (huge) and food good. $90 incl tax and tip.

    Great new spot

Tried Kibo on Saturday night and was highly impressed. Kibo is a million times better than Japonais (previously occupied the same space). The food was excellent and the service was outstanding - we were with a large party and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us. I highly recommend Kibo.
