I love this place!
The restaurant has been around for about 20 years. The 2 brothers (I believe) who own it are always there and take real pride in their place. The food is great. The atomosphere is beautiful and peaceful. It is a very special place!

Good & Bad
My first and only visit (unfortunately!) to Khyber Pass started out well. I enjoyed the food and found the atmosphere was pleasing and quite comfortable. I had every intention of coming back for these reasons. However, I later discovered that the waitress assigned to my table overcharged my credit card.

Great Food
A restaurant with genuine excellent service, nice cozy atmosphere for couples and families or even a loner...great place to have dinner and a good portion of servings that are all traditional Afghani dishes, cooked and presented very well.

It's OK
Afghani food is basically a cross between Persian and Indian, and you'd probably be better off trying one of those for dinner. If you want better Afghani cooking, make the trip out to Main St. in Queens. I was kind of put off by this place when I found a bug in my drink. The waiter said it must have fallen from the ceiling, and didn't even offer to change the drink. It *is* better thank Bamiyan, which is on the corner of 26th and 3rd. Their kubideh and barg (minced and chunk kebab) are consistently burnt. Not just char-grilled, but burnt with a very strong lemon flavour.

great afghani food!
the best afghani food in the city! very authentic, very tasty. Sometimes the service is slow, but the food is worth it. The lunch specials are great - try the vegetarian pumpkin, spinach, and/or beans with the palow *rice with orange peels/cranberries, etc* mmm... fantastic!

A one-time affair
This restaurant has an interesting atmosphere - and that is its biggest selling point. The food itself was a cross between Indian and Middle Eastern. The first time I went there, I enjoyed the experience and food a lot. The second time I went there I was disappointed by food - I think its novelty wore off. In either case, its great to try once, but not worth repeat visits.
