    Beautiful people, disappointing everything else

I eat out often, but have rarely written reviews. However, this place was so disappointing, I had to share. To start, the hostess was very rude. I had an 8:30 reservation on a Friday night. When my friend and I arrived, the place was basically empty (literally, only 6 or 7 tables were seated). The hostess still made us wait at the bar. She showed us to our table a few minutes later, but despite being squished between two other tables, she made no effort to help us move the table slightly to squeeze into the booth. Even when I asked if she could assist us, she just stared at me blankly. My friend and I both ordered the sliders for an appetizer and they were actually quite good. I had the scallops for an entree and the ONLY flavor I tasted was salt. Despite being quite hungry, I could only force down 3 of the 7 or so scallops on the plate. Our waiter was a friendly guy, but did not come by to refill our wine glasses a single time (we ordered a bottle). Overall, the experience was one of the worst I've had in years. There are so many great restaurants in New York, that there is no need to waste a cent here. The "trend" factor does not make up for its mediocrity.

    Service is not good

We were very excited to try this restaurant after all the hype, but the service is ridiculously bad. The 6 of us sat down and it took them almost 20 minutes to come over to the table. We finally ordered cocktails and the servier returned only to drop the glass spilling drinks all over everyone at the table. The glass broke all over the table so we all got up. I asked the host to please move our table there was glass everywhere he told us where to go. Then we waited another 20 minutes before anyone came over! I had to get up and ask for a server and menus and replacement drinks! Absurd! The food actually happened to be good, thankfully... but for what we spend, i'd like good service!

Not sure how the food is... all i remember is the awful service!

Wait forever for drinks and food... and after 11pm they wouldn't allow our friend in to join us. Skip this spot, they have their heads up their bums!

Mediocre Food with a Side of Attitude

This place is coasting on reputation. The food was not bad, above average, but very expensive. Worse was the attitude. When we were placed at a table out in the middle of the floor, we asked to be moved to one of the side tables, only to be told that table had been "reserved." I didn't know people reserved specific tables, but apparently so.....except no one came to sit there while we were there. The snotty hostess just didn't want to accommodate us. Plus the place was only about 60% full on a Thursday evening. Our waiter was nice, but otherwise the place was very overrated. Not to mention the bar downstairs, which is a total wreck.

    Better food to be had

The food here was just not that good. I'm really not surprised by the good reviews, based on the fact that when there is a celebrity chef in a good location, people want to think that the food is better than it is in reality. I got a salad that was literally Boston Lettuce leaves, sliced hard hearts of palm, and pepper. I've made far better at my apartment. The chicken was WAY too salty, though it was tender and juicy. I find oversalted food to be unacceptable, and a mark of a chef in the kitchen with a questionable palatte. We also ended up going across the street for funnel cake for dessert, as our waiter indicated we might be more satisfied by taking that route. Overall it was really really average (at best) and I was very disappointed after all the build-up!

    definitely trendy

kenmare..so hot right now. the tuna carpaccio was delicious. if you're not huge into cucumbers, dont do it. they are very overpowering. the ny strip was nice and juicy. it came with an asparagus risotto which is always nice. now, i dont usually order the fruity dessert but i had heard how fabulous their rasberry ruhbarb crisp was...so i went for it. i didnt regret it. the crumby goodness on top was cooked to perfection and the ice cream made for a perfect balance. negative: expensive AND a subway rattles the entire restaurant every 2 minutes. the price you pay for being cool anddd eating a delightful meal all at once.

    Pedestrian

Nice room and service but the food is very ordinary-and in the case of my swordfish main--inedible! I sent it back because it was rock hard and dry. The scallop replacementwas vitrually tasteless. Experienced owners and chef are making a mistake in thinking they can coast on their reputations. Don't rush!
