GREAT GREEK
Last night we had dinner at kellari with a group of friends.The service and atmosphere are ingredible.The waiter expained everything very well and he didn't rush us.The food was amazing , it was a great dining experience

Very enjoyable
My husband and I dined at Kellari Taverna on Christmas Eve and found everything to be just as expected. The service was very friendly, yet professional and the food was elegant and delicious. We sampled some Greek wines and remaked about their complexity and taste. We will definately be returning.

Best octopus in NYC
I was at Kellari the other day and i had the best octopus in my life.. i am an octopus fanatic and i always order it when ever i go Greek usually at mylos or avra but nothings gets close to the octopus i had at kellari!

Very Enjoyable
My wife is Greek and has been involved in the restaurant/hospitality business her entire life--hypercritical comes naturally. But we both liked Kellari Taverna for quite a few reasons. We enjoyed the pre-theater menu (which is larger than the menu listed here) -the Kalamari was tender and plentiful; 3 large Spanikopita were excellent. The snapper was perfect--my wife's Pastitso was as good as she's ever had. The prix fixe also included Baklava--6 large rolled pieces were very good. The ambiance was great; the service attentive. Our waiter, while not Greek, knew the Greek wines well enough to make a good recommendation. The place was decorated wonderfully--we would definitely go back on our next trip.

Very poor value
We've been here a couple of times now and won't be back. First time it was costly but food was ok, last time food was mediocre and therefore way overpriced. Service is friendly but slow and extremely uninformed. No reason to go here.

Like a trip to Greece
Very beautiful restaurant with varieties of fresh grilled fish rarely seen in NY. Interesting wine list with many high-end Greek selections. They bring the fish to the table before cooking so you can pick the size, and you pay by weight. Not inexpensive, but it is a great place for a romantic dinner or celebration. Good for large parties as it is a very large space.

Don't bother, Not Worth It.
Went here for dinner one night and though it is beautifully furnished, the food was merely ok, and the service was poor ... we were ignored for most of the evening, but noticed someone who looked to be the owner or manager paying very close attention to some ladies at the next table who turned out to be food critics.
