great find near my office
been walking by here for over a year and finally went in this past week. been back twice since. great great food. definitely different from all the other places around here. the chicken with cous cous was delicious.

no way
I tried to like it (went several times against my wife's advice) and they cannot get an order correct--then they blame you! One order of eggs was so undercooked I beleiveve they were dangerous.

Where am I?
I agree with the other reviews here - this cafe definitely gets me out of the midtown hustle. service is laid back (I never got a self-written-in-tip on my bill from a waiter, and Ive eaten here a half-dozen times), and the food is good and fresh. Lattes are nice as well. The bench along the wall is not the most comfortable (opt for chairs), but I am so glad this cafe is here for pleasant, informal conversations with colleagues and friends!

Nice but beware the self-tip
I give this place five stars for its decor and food. BUT, and this really ruined my experience, the server wrote in about a 25% suggested tip to my bill, taking my total bill for 2 crepes and 2 cappucinos above $30. The food and service were good, but a 25% tip?! I felt like I had been cheated by one of those waiters at tourist traps in Europe. Not wanting the server to potentially do gross things with my food the next time (if there is a next time!), I just paid up, but this left a really bad taste in my mouth. So maybe it really was authentically European.

Great place, except for the waiter
The European waiter guy is extremely snotty. He huffed at me when I didn't want to order yet since I was waiting for a friend, and when I ordered soup and tea, they were out of both!! Later, he again pouted that we wanted to split the check and said, "Ugh, your bill is almost the same. Can't you just split it?" (I only had a $20.) It was as if we were inconveniencing him by being patrons in the cafe. That said, the place has very cute décor and is great to meet a friend, so if he's not there, I would go back.

Great presentation!
Their latte is great and presented perfectly with foam, topped with tender chocolate powder. The place has very European feel, it's very cozy and will make you wanting to come back. The only con is that they don't have their own restroom and you have to step out to use one in the building next door...

i almost dont want to write a review
this is the kind of place you really want to keep to yourself. the selection of tea is impressive and the 5-6 table limit is endearing. dont be surprised if a neighbor strikes up conversation, its just that kind of place.
