    Great food, FAST service

My husband and I made reservations for a Saturday night (highly recommended!!). And were seated promptly, so no issue there. The speed of service was beyond out of control. I didnt need to dominate a table for two hours, but we were barely able to sit for an hour. I was halfway through my salad app when they brought the entree. Why were they rushing me? They were very busy, but allow me to finish my app. The food was amazing though, and despite the speed, we will definitely be returning to eat again!

    Excellent Greek food

This restaurant has excellent Greek food, a fun and loud atmosphere (due to the fact it is always crowded, so get a reservation), great prices and great service. I would highly recommend this to everyone. Kefi speaks well for itself in that they are always crowded and have to turn people away at the door due to large crowds. Great food for a reasonable price!

    mixed experience

I had good and bad experience at kefi 1/22. The food is absolutely delicious and well priced, so I understand how it is popular. But the space has zero ambiance, is too noisy, and the service is incompetent-not the waiters but the hostess. Made a reservation, which is recommended - but we were not seated for another half an hour past our appointment time- no apologies, no warmth, and they rush you out of your dinner. could be better

    Bring back the old Kefi

If you liked the old Kefi, this is nothing like your experience there. This restaurant is impersonal, cold, too large and the food suffers from all of the above. The old Kefi was lovely because the kitchen was able to keep the quality of the food high because they were small. Now, the salads come out cold from the fridge which is very unpleasant, and their is little attention paid to the flavoring of the food. The new restaurant is also louder than the old and the tables are even more squished together. The prices are not all that attractive to put up with all the rest. Not a great dining experience!

    Downhill

I had a really bad dining experience when lunching with my friend at the new Kefi on 1/17. I ordered the pork souvlaki sandwich and was served reheated, hard, dried-out pieces of pork. The salad on the plate was cold, right out of the fridge and had soft grape tomatoes. The "Greek" fries were double-fried and hard. My friend, who ordered the lamb shank with orso (which was good because that dish is always good a few days later), tasted my food and agreed that it was not good. Our waiter was very professional and sympathetic and sent a manager over when we complained about the food. Although we were calm and polite, management personnel were very argumentative and insisted that everything was freshly prepared. We were told that the ice-cold salad was not from yesterday, but was marinated!!!! We were told that the "Greek" fries were "al dente". Our plates were whisked away and he returned to our table to argue further, stating that he, himself, tasted my food and thought it was fine. At this point, my friend looked at him and softly said: "Then your tastebuds must be dead." During the entire meal there was cold air, instead of heat, blowing from the ventilation system to the point where several patrons had to eat wearing their coats and scarves. People all through the restaurant were complaining about the cold air, but the manager said that nothing could be done..

    too bad they moved

I went to the old location on Columbus this summer and was wowed by the food for the price, and great atmosphere. The new location is too large and loud. It feels like they are trying too hard to be "country greek"... it was like the Applebee's of Greek food with screaming kids and all. For some reason, the food was the same good prices, but the quality was not there. Waitstaff were in t-shirts (really, you can't just have a nice collared white shirt?)... and there were many of them but kept forgetting to see us. Too bad, because I really liked Kefi. Now I know better.

    Great food, packed and loud

Very impressive food - the spreads, fried cod, flat pasta with braised rabbit and kefi mac n' cheese were all excellent, and the bottle of Greek wine was reasonably priced. Overall excellent value for the cost. Only problems were the immense crowds (hard to avoid in a popular place) and loud volume level. The space is all hard surfaces, so sound is really amplified, especially when busy. We were lucky to sit in a corner back table and it was still difficult to hear. One caveat - both Donatella and Michael were in the restaurant, so quality may have been enhanced by their presence in the kitchen and front of the house.
