Went to Kefi on a whim after reading old reviews in both the NYT and NY Magazine. The food was absolutely unbelievable to Greek standard, it was well-grilled, perfectly seasoned, simple & healthy. The service was quick and the decor fitting, though there was something wrong with the bathooms on the night of our visit. My biggest complaint was one of the servers - thankfully he was not ours, but I couldn't tolerate his pretentiousness: all foods were described as "welcoming", the wine "characteristic of the soil of the region". The calamari starter was perfectly light (but disappointingly came with a heavy yogurt dip), the branzino grilled to perfection. We left feeling full but not sickeningly so & would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

    Best in the neighborhood

Kefi is excellent! I've been about half a dozen times now and every dish I have tried has been amazing. The shrimp and orzo is my favorite, but the grilled swordfish is also great. The meatball starter is also very tasty. Yes, the place is crowded - but that's just part of the charm. It's cute, the staff is lovely, and best of all, it's cheap! Even the wine is very reasonable.

    Wonderful choice!

Perhaps the best value in town! The bill came to only less than 70 before tips and we were already so pleasantly full. The 18-dollar wine is actually pretty good - no cheap taste at all. The Greek Salad was very unique and the fish entree was DELICIOUS! Everything just tasted nice. We had a great time. Oh and, the waitor was so cute that I wanted to become a regular because of him!

Absolutely loved it -a new favorite!

I went to Kefi last night with 4 friends. We got a great little table in a section of the restaurant (just fit the table for 5), and it was perfect. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly, and directed our choices well. The food was terrific, and the everything was priced so reasonably (esp. the wine)! I'll definitely put Kefi on my list of regular places to visit.

    So unaccommodating in EVERY way!!!

ok yes, the food is good. but this place has got space issues that are ridiculous. first of all the tables are packed in so jam tight you can barely move, and it's REALLY loud. second they don't have any high chairs so you can not dine their with your child unless you are willing to literally have them in your lap! third they don't deliver so you can't avoid their space issues. fourth when i called once to ask if i could just pick up the food to go, they said they were too busy and maybe if i called back after 9:30 pm they would consider accommodating me. unbelievable!!

    Delicious dinner for a bargain!

The food has been fantastic both times we've tried Kefi. The grilled swordfish, sheep milk ravioli, and shrimp orzo are all surprisingly flavorful and unique. The spreads appetizer is a must-have, particularly the smoky eggplant. The yogurt and walnut cake desserts are terrific, too! Couldn't praise highly enough.

If you love food and wine...

...then you have to try out Kefi. Waiters know every last detail about all of the dishes, all of the wines, and even what may be the best combinations of the two. Fun enviroment, pleasent staff, and generally a very good time. Best of all, our bill for 3 people came out to under $75! The food is fresh, fun, inventive, and fast. Great place for a quick meal if that's what you're looking for, but they don't hesitate to slow things down for you upon request. They are doing great things in such a small space (we look forward to the move!)
