    Keens- the old boys club

Been to keens several times, and am always impressed with their delicious steaks and chops. Went last night, and they didn't have the porterhouse for 2 available, and I was told by the waiter the fried calamari just got cut from the menu. Service was friendly, but waiter forgot my drink and had already finished my meal by the time I was able to grab him. All in all, you do not go to keens (or most other NYC steak houses) for top notch service, you go for the steaks, which in my opinion surpass most nyc steakhouses. The mutton chop is really good too. Cheers!

    Well worth the stop!

Ate here before heading over to Madison Square Garden for a Rangers game. Very close and convenient. Although we didn't have reservations, we were seated very quickly. Atmosphere is very "pub" like and there are thousands of smoking pipes across the ceilings. The restaurant has many dining rooms on different levels - it is very different. The wine and food were excellent. We all enjoyed our Filet Mignon prepared differently from Med Rare to Med Well.. the mushroom soup was scrumptious and the chef even prepared a lobster for us on a plate "lazy man style" so we didn't have to. the lobster too was delicious. Great wine. Cozy atmosphere.... not to loud and not to scrunched in...Would return there again in a heart beat. Service was friendly, fast and very attentive. try it!

    Better than average steakhouse

Took a client there, and we had very attentive, polite service. The food was top notch - including the best prime rib I've ever had.

    Almost a "mis-steak"

This is an ok steak house. Nothing is bad, likewise nothing is outstanding. I did not like their tables for two being situated so close to other tables. I would be surprised if you couldn't do better in New York.

    Best Bar

Keens is a beautiful step back in time. Gorgeous dining room and atmosphere. The bar is superb for a quick meal and drink. Service was attentive and very professional. They made me sauteed spinach in place of fries with my hamburger...an excellent and quality touch. Well worth the trip.

    Love that steak!

Delicious! A steak lover, who was very partial to Peter Luger's steak, I was also very pleased here. They won my over with the tomato & onion salad by putting balsamic! The atmosphere was also much better. They also offer seafood here, another novelty compared to Lugers, but I thought the steak was 2nd best. I would absolutely dine here again - oysters tasty too!
