conventional (but cheap!)
I'm afraid I'd be hard pressed to sing praises for this place. I'll simply hum instead: it was terribly conventional and terribly boooring. BUT the sushi was decent and decently priced. The staff made you feel like you were another mouth on the conveyor belt, and they tried to shuffle you along as quickly as possible... even taking plates away before they were finished. I'm surprised that there's such a mundane joint in the vicinity of Abington Square where most everything else in the area is cutsified..

Great Sushi
I really enjoy the sushi here for both eating-in and taking-out, but the service can be shaky. Giving phone numbers and credit card information over the phone is difficult with their English not being so good, and they are very pushy. Sometimes I'm not sure if I am going to get hung up on mid-order. As far as eating-in is concerned, it is humid inside from the kitchen being open to the dining area, and the tables are close to each other. Definitely none of these qualms will keep me from enjoying Kawa, altogether it is a great sushi place to have in the neighborhood.

super fast delivery/subpar food
The delivery was so quick I couldn't help but question the freshness of the order. That said, I was excited to try Kawa based on the reviews I read. I ordered the Tiger Roll and a Spicy Tuna roll...the tiger roll, I could not eat it. Just from looking at it, it was clearly not fresh!! The salmon looked like it had been sitting out for at least a few days...I threw it all away. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but when it comes to sushi, no second chances.

Very nice sushi place
I eat at Kawa at least 2-3 times per month, both take out and eat in. A great place and good sushi. Besides the rolls and sushi definitely try the unagi don at lunch (great value) and the creative Haru Maki appetizer (spring roll)

A+++
As a die hard sushi lover, I've had my share so when I say Kawa is good, it's GOOD! They're reasonably priced for lunch and dinner and have excellent service. Love it!

Best sushi that we've found
Kawa is the best of it's class that we've found so far. It's a little more expensive than similar restaurants, but that extra cost gives you more variety (in terms of specialty rolls) and better quality.

Best Sushi Delivery in W. Village 4 $$$
Not amazing, not terrible. Arguably the best quality sushi delivery available for the price in West Village. Their cooked food is fairly decent as well.
