    Overpriced for mediocre food

My wife and I went down to Katz to experience this deli because we thought it would be fantastic food. Unfortunately, we paid over $16 (including tax) for 1 roast beef sandwich that was fatty and hard to chew. The man behind the counter told us that the roast beef was a bit red and rare today and gave us samples of the meat to taste. The meat he gave us was pretty good but we think the meat he put on the sandwich may not have been the same.Nevertheless, for that kind of money for 1 sandwich, it should be great and should melt in your mouth, not fatty and tough to chew. The sandwich was not bad for the most part but we felt this was an average deli sandwich that wasn't worth the price. Plus, they only give you a couple of pickles with it so the sandwich is really all you get for the money.

    Best deli

I don't know what everyone has against this place. All the food is excellent. So is the atmosphere. The service is okay, but you don't have to sit in the waiter section. It seems people have problems with the specialties, but in my opinion and experience they are excellent. As a New York native it makes me sad that it is now a tourist trap, but it is still good.

    Egg Cream

I am 62. I have not had a Egg Cream since I was 17yrs old, when I lived in the city .I was so disappointed with the egg cream. It did not taste the same.My sister and friend said the same thing, the service was fantastic, and they were so nice to us,telling us they do make it diffferent. But the food was fantastic,I felt so at home ,i could rememebr me and my family as a young girl in your deli. God bless you guys for keeping this wonderful place and memory for people still going.I want to make another trip, would love to make you guys the real egg cream when I visit next.

    $80 minimum for lunch delivery!

Okay I've loved the food forever. But the service, atmosphere, etc is what it is... Today I tried to order delivery, which they only offer until 2pm, and they now require an $80 minimum? Katz you just lost my business - about a grand or more a year between me and my out if town guests that loved you too.

    Never again

Service was standard and clearly intended for cranking out the customers. Atmosphere felt like a cafeteria. Food was sooo overrated. They have nothing on Detroit's Reubens and Russian dressing! Chopped liver was oddly chunky too. Not worth the time or $.
