Without doubt the best vegan fast food I've had. Whenever I'm in NY from Scotland it's a deff stopover at Kate's at least twice every trip. Nice bit of punk rock playing in the background as well!

I only wish we were in NY long enough to try everything on the menu, which is extensive. As for those reviewers who didn't like the atmosphere or the decor: maybe you should stick to Olive Garden or Chili's. Kate's Joint has character, baby! In abundant glorious, mouthfuls! I had the vegan mac & cheese, and I have to say it was the best soy cheese I ever had. I'm talking OUT OF THIS WORLD. My wife had a mashed potato & gravy dish that was also terrific. The service was excellent, attentive, and quick, and the prices are reasonable (for NYC). Oh, and they have a full bar, too, which just puts a cherry on the top of my Kate's Joint Sundae!

My best friend and I went here for brunch on Wednesday morning. I am a devout vegetarian, she is a meat-eater. We both ordered the same thing: the pancakes. I had them with bananas and walnuts, she had hers plain. The 'cakes themselves were sooooo good. She was a little taken aback by the fact that they were whole grain, but liked them anyway, and I simply adored mine. We were both disappointed that a restaurant that offers organic items and serves health-conscious eaters (vegetarians) would have that awful fake maple syrup stuff. Come on Kate, get the real thing! The waiter was really nice but seemed kinda dirty in that hipster way, the atmosphere was definitely diner-ish, but in a cold/gross way, not in a down-home cheerful way. They definitely could do with a design overhaul. Plus, the place was freezing. We ate with our coats and scarves on. The value was pretty average for the city, like 6.75 or something for the pancakes, which I'd like to reiterate, we delicious. Just don't expect an upscale place when you go, and you'll enjoy yourself. P.S. Hey Kate- wipe down those ceiling fans! Pigeons could nest in all that dust!

This is an amazing place. I wish it not to off the beaten path, though. And I wish they delivered uptown, but wow, the food here is awesome! Thank you for not just serving the typical thrown-together vegetarian standards. Thank you for thinking outside the box!

I really love this place, staff is so friendly, and it's one of the few vegetarian restaurants I eat at where I don't feel like I'm missing out on the filling delicious good stuff. However, the brunch left something to be desired. I'd rather have their burgers and wings!

Kate's is the best...you can have awesome vegetarian food and liquor in the same place. I have an unturkey club at least once a week.

I was really excited to eat here, after having heard so many great things about it. But when I stepped through the front door I knew I was makign a mistake. Now I'm not a food snob, and love some other cheap veggie places, but I will not be going back.
