Poor food with no heat in winter
Hi, visited twice, both times the food was not great, they turn on heat once they saw customers in winter time and very small heater for the whole entire restaurent. Dessert(that day's Carrot halwa) was subpar. I don't recommend this to anyone.

buffet
although signs made it look like a $6 for all you can eat, the buffet was actually $6 per pound, so my semi-small amount came out to $8.50. The food was cold and had to be microwaved, however, with the exception of one of the chicken curries, which was mediocre, the food was quite good, and better than I had expected. Contrary to a previous post, they served me water and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The downstairs ambiance was very nice, and did not match the cheap look of the upstairs buffet. If I do come back, I will probably pick something from the menu, because it is a place with standard Indian dinner prices, not a cheap buffet, as it looks from the outside.

Take out lunch
While I cannot comment on the eating situation in the full dining room, I did purchase lunch from their take out area ($5.99/lb) and sat downstairs to eat it in the dining room. The food was really delicious, especially considering it was cafeteria style. It's sad that a cafeteria style place is better than a lot of sit-down places. The kebabs were good, the biryani was average, the chicken dishes were all pretty good and well seasoned (but not always spicy enough) and the mutton curry was surprisingly good. The food is tasty and you can get it quick on the go. For the area, probably the best lunchtime Pakistani-Indian food.

give them a break!
The food is good- tasty, spicy, and reasonably priced. Downstairs is attractive, upstairs could be better.

I won't eat here again
The food was mediocre, and the prices were high, considering the quality of the food. But the worst was the service. Incredibly slow. This could have been overlooked, except, we were in a rush and asked for our check, and the waitress argued with us that we had asked for it too soon, that we couldn't possibly want the check because our meal had just arrived (we had waited almost 45 minutes for our curries). My explanation that we had a Bway show to go to didn't faze her. We asked a 2nd time for the check ten minutes later, and were told we would have to wait. Finally, we left money on the table and decided to leave. The waitress rudely asked, "Did I give you your check?" in a very patronizing way. She went on to berate us for trying to leave, then she made us wait an excrutatingly long time while she added up the three items (two entrees and some bread) on our bill. We will not return.

A horrible experience
Quite possibly the worst dining experience we have had. Stopped in for a quick dinner on a Friday night, before a show. The restaurant was nearly empty. Despite that, the service was slow, so much so that it took several minutes after our dinner was served before we were given plates. When we could finally eat, the food was mediocre, at best. I would recommend against ever eating dinner here.

worth it
though the entrance is small and not so attractive we were hesitating to have lunch...but once we entereed there all our hesitation vanished we just not controlled ourselves.. once all should try their kebabs & dumplings theye were really good....we were fortunate enough to find this kind of restaurent in the heart of newyork, .One more thing to say the buffet are below $10 ....!!!!
