Delicious food & great atmosphere make for perfect date spot!
My husband and I are always looking for restaurants for date nights in the area, and this is our new favorite! The food is delicious - we've had a bunch of the appetizers as well as the trout entree, and were blown away by all of it. The atmosphere is great (they did a wonderful job with the renovation - it's now homey yet romantic inside), the service is friendly, and best of all, the prices are reasonable for this area -- which makes it a perfect staple for us! Would highly recommend for a date night, or a dinner with friends!

Like visiting friends who cook really well
Everything I order here is completely delicious and the owners and staff are incredibly nice. I just moved to the neighborhood, but I'm already a regular. The latkes and lox! The potato vareniki! The borscht!

Delicious, Delicious & One More Time - Delicious! I have been their customer since they opened last year. Yes, they had hard time to get their stuff together, but they have done a nice job of polishing those little issues & now they are solid neighborhood favorite. Breakfast all day long, Great Burgers & Sandwiches with Pickled Vegetables, Thin Dumplings (Vareniki) that make you go - MHWA! Soups to die for, Creamy Beef Stroganoff, Strong Coffee in many styles of preparation. BUT their Artisanal Ice Cream that they sell by Hand Stuffed Pints & Cookie Cones are so addictive, if I did not live few blocks away, I would go crazy. I would

Yummy and lovely
Everything was delicious (cheese vareniki and chicken and rice meatballs)- including the cucumber infused tap water! Everyone is super friendly and the ice cream is the perfect end to the meal for the walk home. Can't wait to come in the winter for the comfort food.

Karloff magic
The food is made and served with a warmth and humble soulfulness that is unforgettable and holds a special place in my stomach and thankfully has a place in my neighborhood. And as in all perfect meals, the ending is as vital as the main course; I love the unique flavors and quality of Karloff's locally-made ice cream bar.

Just OK
We've been several times and consistently the service is on the slow side, though they are nice. Today I had latkes with kielbasa. The latkes were crusty and hard on the outside, grey mush on the inside and the kielbasa was burned. My eggs were bland and cold. I generally get the big breakfast, and it comes out fine. They are good with kids, strollers, and high chairs. They have a huge selection of small batch ice creams, but I haven't tasted them or heard anyone else talk about them. This place is passable, but nothing to rave about.
