Thank you Karloff...
Delicious, Delicious & One More Time - Delicious! I have been their customer since they opened last year. Yes, they had hard time to get their stuff together, but they have done a nice job of polishing those little issues & now they are solid neighborhood favorite. Breakfast all day long, Great Burgers & Sandwiches with Pickled Vegetables, Thin Dumplings (Vareniki) that make you go - MHWA! Soups to die for, Creamy Beef Stroganoff, Strong Coffee in many styles of preparation. BUT their Artisanal Ice Cream that they sell by Hand Stuffed Pints & Cookie Cones are so addictive, if I did not live few blocks away, I would go crazy. I would

Yummy and lovely
Everything was delicious (cheese vareniki and chicken and rice meatballs)- including the cucumber infused tap water! Everyone is super friendly and the ice cream is the perfect end to the meal for the walk home. Can't wait to come in the winter for the comfort food.

Karloff magic
The food is made and served with a warmth and humble soulfulness that is unforgettable and holds a special place in my stomach and thankfully has a place in my neighborhood. And as in all perfect meals, the ending is as vital as the main course; I love the unique flavors and quality of Karloff's locally-made ice cream bar.

Just OK
We've been several times and consistently the service is on the slow side, though they are nice. Today I had latkes with kielbasa. The latkes were crusty and hard on the outside, grey mush on the inside and the kielbasa was burned. My eggs were bland and cold. I generally get the big breakfast, and it comes out fine. They are good with kids, strollers, and high chairs. They have a huge selection of small batch ice creams, but I haven't tasted them or heard anyone else talk about them. This place is passable, but nothing to rave about.

Better than my grandma's cooking!
I was told by a friend about this place and I'm very happy I checked it out! The food was outstanding! Better than my grandma's... really! I haven't had latkes in ages, and now it's so perfect for Hanukkah time. Also, the borscht is my old time favorite along with beef stroganoff - both were perfect: harty & filling. This is my new winter food place.

Not recommended
I went there this weekend for take out and it was not good. I ordered at the counter and the food took over 30 minutes-soup and some latkes. The soup was bland and the latkes were burnt, greasy, hash brown-like hockey pucks. I would give it a second chance but it is overpriced. I will not be going back.
