The food is overpriced, but what restaurants in NYC aren't? It took the food forever to come out, which is like all other restaurants. But the fact that the food was severely below par, made this restaurant unappealing. I know Korean food and it wasn't good. The Jabchae should be avoided, the BBQ was low quality, and all the banchan was disasterous. If you want good Korean food that is worth the price, go across the Street to Shilla. Try the Kalbi JJim best I have ever had here or Korea.

I don't know what's up with that last review but Kang Suh is the best. I've been going there for years now and I've never had an issue with the food or anything. I <3 Korean food and have been to almost every other restaurant on 32nd st. but none were as good as Kang Suh.

Food quantity, quality & service has definitely declined at Kang Suh. Two thumbs down! My friend & I ordered 2 orders of BBQ beef & Jap Chae. The beef came in small, appetizer sized dishes! At $24.99 per order that is just absurd. Asked for tea that never came, waitress was so unattentive and never came to check on the BBQ. The side dishes were so lame and looked as if they had been sitting outside awhile. The taste of the food was far from spectacular and over priced. I will NEVER dine at Kang Suh again.

Granted there are SO many korean places to eat on or near 32nd street, I would recommend this place for the quality of their food over all the others. Granted you can find cheaper places to eat, but why try to save a few bucks per entree when the food is WAY BETTER here!?!?! This is, hands down, the freshest meat, vegetables, fish (including sushi) on the k-town strip. Loud as it may get, take it as a sign that the crowds come here for GREAT FOOD! This place is so much better than the place across the street with the waterfall & piano....

We went to Kang Suh the other night and had a very good meal. However, we were also there about 2 yrs ago and I'm not sure if it was as good this time. Certainly, they have done away with the coal braziers and now use regular gas flame like so many other spots. The coals were key and gave a terrific flavor to the bbq. Now, the bbq is very much like other places. And, as others have noted, for the quantity of meat it is relatively expensive, I think. About $24 for Kalbi. Yes, you get all the fixings and kim chi but you get that if you order the $14 bim bim bop - which was good but not outstanding. And, if you are hungry, those small pieces of bbq'd meat go very quickly. Also, to cook the bbq yourself you must order at least two servings of bbq. If only one, then the kitchen cooks it for you. Service was great. Attentive, helpful and they constantly filled up your water glass. Yes, when we were done the check hit the table quickly but, the place had a line down the stairs and practically out the door. I see no problem with that. In short, all the food was very good but, perhaps other spots have gotten much better so that what was once stellar is now on par with others. West 32d street has restaurant after restaurant, some of which are very upscale and well designed. It is a great place to go with friends and/or trourists.

My date and I had the bbq - short ribs and chicken. The beef was great, really liked the flavor, but I wouldn't get the chicken again; it wasn't marinated, so it had little flavor. The banchan was plentiful and wonderful! Plus, we actually got good service, something I rarely find anywhere in Manhattan...we got water refills without asking...a first for me here! We went at dinner on a Wed. night and had prompt service without being rushed. I would go here again!

I went to kangsuh with my co-workers for the first time and we had a really good time. The bbq was delicious and the sushi was surprisingly very good. The service was good also. I want to take my mom and dad here next time for the bbq and sushi.
