Best ramen in NYC
My wife and I are Japanese, and we have eaten at many different ramen-ya here in the city. Kambi (and its sister joint, Minca) makes the best ramen. Period. Kambi is our regular ramen-ya. The noodles are always cooked perfectly, and I like getting the whole wheat noodles. Kambi is some seriously good eats, and it's definitely the place to go for ramen. (Cash only.)

I've been going here for years now since they first opened up and have NEVER been disappointed. hands down best ramen ever!! and the pork is delicious! on top of all this, the service is always wonderful and the staff is super friendly. highly recommend! Try to kimchi & pork sautee appetizer and the spicy miso ramen! You will love it!

Love it!
After being disappointed by a couple of different ramen places, mainly because they serve an all pork menu, I was so happy to find Kambi. They have a nice variety of soups that you can either order straight off the menu, or choose your noodle, soup base, meat, etc. The totally adorable waitress was really helpful answering my questions, and our choices wound up being wonderful. The ramen bowls are huge and stuffed with plenty of what ever you order. They are trully filling. Beware of the lunch special combo... there is alot of food, which is not a bad thing if you weren't planning on eating dinner any time soon. My husband who is not the most adventurous eater has suggested going back a few times, and that says alot! I can't wait fo the first cold crisp fall day so I can head down to 14th street for a nice bowl of yummy ramen.

best ramen in NYC
Yes, this is the ramen joint you want to eat at. There are many different ramen houses sprouting up here in New York City, but Kambi is the best. Kambi is a spin-off from Minca. Minca is also great, but a hassle to visit. Kambi on the other hand is easy to visit, right off of 14th and First Ave.

Excellent Ramen
I get the shoyu pork ramen with thick noodles every time. The broth is thick and meaty with a strong delicious flavor. The noodles are very al dente and wonderfully chewy. It's a great ramen that I finish too fast every time. This place is getting busier but you can still get in pretty easy. My favorite ramen spot in NYC.

best ramen around!
This place is so damn hip AND lowkey, NO attitude at all. Friendly, attentive service--but best is the ramen--my fav is #2 with thin noodles. Each ingredient is flawless and discrete, the broth is perfect. You can watch the prep right there, the decor is elegant but simple, totally meets my esthetic needs. Looks like Momofuku without the nauseating hype. And on Thur. nights, the owner plays in an excellent jazz trio, right there. Wish they had a bigger menu, and drinks--that would be heaven. But they know what they do, and do it right.

Good
Pretty good....I ordered the spicy miso ramen with wavy noodles and chicken. The chicken looked a little suspect....lots of tendons etc. Menu said it would be served with wild vegetables, however it was just some corn kernels, a few bamboo shoots and some seaweed...and a tiny bit of it. I wouldn't order this again. However, the kimbhi and gyoza were great, and other people's food looked good, so I would try it again. Also a poor selection of drinks.
