Kaijou (CLOSED)

The location is beautiful. The food is okay -- good enough that we have been returning customers for eat-in and take-out but of late every time we order the order is incorrect. When eating in this is somewhat tolerated but when getting take out you call back and they tell you well I dont have that written down. And that is my fault? Then they want you to go there and pick up the correct order ... not send somebody out to correct the mistake. This has happened 3 times in a row. Solution: we are not going back there again for mediocre incorrect food.

I just came back from a disappointing lunch at Kaijou. We were the only people dining there. The wait staff was rude and got into an argument amongst themselves. I told them to be quiet. Instead, they took the argument to the outdoor seating area. We were sitting right by the door and could still hear them. My hot entree also came out about 10 minutes earlier than the sushi (probably because the chefs at the sushi bar were also involved in this argument they were all having). By the time the sushi arrived, my food was cold. Poor service, unappetizing food. I did not go out to lunch to hear people screaming at each other.

Okay so one will definitely want to come to this place for the breathtaking waterfront view. But the food is definitely not worth the extremely high prices. Take out Chinese is better than this!

We went to Kaijou a couple of days ago, and I must say that their sushi is good for the low price. But I was unhappy about the service, the girl hardly spoke English, and it was hard to catch her attention. In fact, the waiters seem to enjoy it more to talk to each other than care for their customers, which was quite annoying. This is why I would consider to use their delivery service next time, but I won't come back here to eat anymore!

Ordered delivery for the first time. highly disappointed. Spicy tuna roll had little scales in every bite. Sloppy job, in my opinion and overall makes for an unpleasant eating experience. Alaskan roll used smoked salmon and no where did it indicate that. Who does that? Ruined the roll. Only good thing was the Black cod roll, yum! But overall will never order from here again because of the sloppy job done on the spicy tuna roll. It's a shame.

I recently visited this restaurant, and I liked it! They got a nice view from windows in which you can see statue of liberty. Food is good although they do not serve authentic Japanese sushi. It's rather fusion style western-Japanese cuisine. Only complain is waiters/waitresses limited English ability, but overall atmosphere is good. It's worth traveling to this downtown restaurant, especially sunset time!

I am obsessed with their Hibachi menu as well as their fried rice. I order from Kaijou at least 3x a week and it's always amazing. They are also really great at customer service and the views are great.
