Cozy and Yummy
Kaia Wine Bar is a cozy funky spot with delicious light food, perfect for a late meal -- since no place else in this neighborhood is open that doesn't suck. The wait staff is pleasant, the lighting is pleasantly low, the wine selection is good and not too pricey. The South African rose is perfect and only $9 a glass. Highly recommended by a picky eater.

Great
Great place, great wine list, laid back and very friendly. The owners are wonderful and the tapas change and everything is so fresh and tasty.

Finally
It's about time, neighborhood has been needing something more grown up than the second ave frat bar scene.

Much needed east 90s dinner/drink spot
Kaia is a wonderful addition to a hood in need of better food/drink options. With a relaxed, low-key but cool (almost hip, but, hey, it's the East 90s on Third Ave.) ambience, delicious and different South African fare, and a terrific wine/beer selection, this place is a great dinner or wine/tapas option. Welcome!

what a pleasant surprise and lovely reception - interesting menu - great wines and beers! Had the samosas and the trout crostini, ostrich slider...lovely glass of Albarino. Try it!! Friendly - clean - young!:-)
