We will never ever think of going back to this restaurant. Food quality was subpar and service was below average. Portions are so small. Food was not any better than that of other average Indian restaurant in the city. We regret wasting our money.

It's a beautiful place with nice service and an interesting, if pricey, wine list. But the food was no better or more subtle than I've had at any Indian restaurant: heat without spice. A real disappointment.

We had the misfortune of dining at Junoon when Yelp.com happened to be taking over the bar area for a private party. That aside ( and the sweet hostess could not have been more apologetic about the deafening noise), the food was the real disappointment. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was wonderful . The minced lamb appetizer tasted no better than street fair food (and I'm a fan of street fair gyros). For the price, there was nothing particularly interesting or even particularly authentic about the food. I didn't feel that I had had a genuine Indian meal. The Cornish hen tandoor tasted as bland as any roasted chicken I've eaten at standard generic restaurants. Service was attentive and earnest. Martinis were fine, but so small. In short, the prices aren't merited.

I had high expectations but was very disappointed. First of all, the pour on the wine and mixed drinks was incredibly skimpy. Also, every thing was a la carte, including white rice. I have never encountered that before in any Indian restaurant. I can understand charging extra for a special rice preparation - but $6 for plain white rice? Ridiculous. Service was confusing. We were waited on by a constantly changing combination of captain, waiter, and server. Of course, when you wanted help done of them was around. We had to falg down a bus boy to help us after requesting a check several times. Also very strange music. Hip hop in an Indian restaurant? Not a good fit !

I'm from India and hence incredibly critical about Indian food when I go out. Junoon is fantastic! Excellent food, great service. In my opinion, way better than Tamarind. It's certainly very expensive, but worth it! We did the 5 course tasting menu.

Elegant room, great service and wonderful food. Good place to impress a date or a client, but bring your gold card bc it will set u back a few bucks. Had the tasting menu for 4 and came out to $325 for 1 cocktail each. I will be back. Nice addition to the neighborhood.

I really wanted to love this restaurant - I didn't. It had super hyped reviews but I found everything "faux". The food was acceptable but the portion of kulfi on the luncheon menu was insultingly small. The service was OK but the decor was phoney and even the much vaunted spice room downstairs was just a diorama next to the restrooms. It was a bit too much chi-chi and too little authentic.
