great for cheesecake after a show
went here after seeing chicago. its busy and nothing great about the atmosphere, but its nice, clean and ok for what it serves and what it is. good staff, who seated us as quickly as they could. for being so busy our waiter was great, very friendly and fun. cracking jokes and made for a nice visit. there were four of us and we all just had cheesecake except for one who had a dinner...it seemed fair, nothing special, but looked good and filling...the cheesecake was very good and lived up to the reputation that junior's has for cheesecake...should def go there just to try a piece and would i would go back...great experience...

Best Cheesecake and Cupcake in NYC
We saw a Broadway show then stopped at Junior's after several disappointing desserts in NYC and the suggestion of a couple who suggested Junior's had the best cheesecake. My sister ordered a chocolate cheesecake and I ordered carrot cake cheesecake. If you like VERY rich desserts, this is your place! Very large slices and each bite had that great diabetic coma response...We had the take out and would definitely go back and recommend the desserts to others.

Awesome Cheesecake and Staff
I wanted to try the restaurant as have had the cheesecake before. It was pretty quiet during the week but wait staff very friendly and helpful. I had fish one night and the carrot cake (to die for) one piece would feed 3 people! The 2nd night I had just a salad because due to the fact I had attended the US Open I had a free piece of cheesecake on Juniors - I choose the Chocolate Mousse and it was delish! Definately try this place, it is worth it. Also nice they have outside seating if the weather is nice while you are in the city.

Fabulous Cheesecake!
This review is only on their cheesecake as we only come to this place for desserts, esp. the cheesecake. On a previous visit to NYC at a bagel place, we asked the server where to get good NY cheesecake. He and a customer both blurted out at the same time - Juniors! So, off we went and we are hooked on their cheesecake! We went home to Canada and missing the cheesecake, we were able to find the recipe and online and tried to make it. It was good, but not as good as the cheesecake from the restaurant. So, on another trip back to NYC, we decided to go to Lindy's for cheesecake just to compare - not as good as Juniors. Went back to Juniors the next night for the real cheesecake! Juniors did not disappoint! Been hooked and in June, took our entire extended family of 15 to Juniors for cheesecake and everyone was hooked! We all went to the take out and each family bought a cheesecake home to Toronto. The server was really helpful and wrapped our cheesecakes so that it would travel well on the 9 hour car trip home. Once back home, we savored every bit of the cheesecake and took our time eating it as we didn't want to run out too quickly. On our recent trip, we bought another cheesecake home and again, savouring it again as it'll be a while before we go back to NYC. If we get desparate, we could make it again or just order it online! Can you tell we love Juniors cheesecake?!! We highly recommend Juniors cheesecake. If anyone can tell us where to get better cheesecake in NYC, we'll try it next time we are in NYC, but for now, Juniors makes the best cheesecake in NYC.

cheesecake!
When you think of Junior's what pops into your mind? CHEESECAKE! I always get the NY Cheesecake (original). I like it plain and it's so creamy. Did you know you order the cheesecake online and have sent to your house? Before your entrees arrive, the waiter always bring a selection of whole dill pickles, coleslaw and beets. This gets your saliva going. I've just discovered their Mac & Cheese. They make it from scratch it's so cheesy and scrumptious! Also, the Chopped Salad with Asian Vinagrette Salad Dressing is so good! If you like some Jewish fare, the matzoh ball soup is good and so is their chopped liver appetizer. I've also had breakfast there and they always give you little danishes before your breakfast appears. I've had their bagel and schmear and there is A LOT of schmear! Not much choice in their types of bagels, though. It's always busy here especially just before the theatre and post-theatre. But we are always seated promptly after a wait of about 15 mins, which is not too bad. Also, Junior's is right along Shubert Alley, across from Schubert Theatre, home of Monty Python's Spamalot. Catch a show there before it's all over on Jan 18, 2009!

somewhat disappointed
Junior's has always been a favorite of mine. Last night I and a friend chose Junior's before we went to the theater. There was a 30 minute wait which worried me. However, the turnover was good and we were seated a little earlier. The waiter was very cheerful and helpful. He knew his business. I ordered the cornbeef/pastrami combo which is what Junior's is known for. I was disappointed when I bit into it. The cornbeef and pastrami though lean was dry and cold. The onion rolls were tough. I'll give it another try sometime down the line, perhaps when it is not so busy.

Interesting food
We went to this place because some guests were in town. I got the Something Different menu item recommended by waiter which was a Beef Brisket between two Potato pancakes. It was very good. I was surprised that I liked the place and would recommend it to others.
