Whenever we eat here its all about getting to dessert. They have the best cheesecake anywhere, hands down! No one does it better. However, some of the other items on their menu are really good. Specifically, I love the ribs, but I haven't had much else there. I also love the assortments of beets and pickles. I love beets! Strangely they have bathroom attendants. Its appropriate to tip these people as they bring their own supplies with them. Nothing is provided by the restaurant. Be kind and leave a dollar on your way out. If you are looking for a quick meal with not a lot of fuss, sit at the counter. You'll get to that cheesecake quicker.

Haven't been to the original outpost in awhile and was not disappointed. All 4 choices were excellent, starting with the turkey & corned beef sandwiches, combo plate of corned beef/pastrami and a cheesburger - all excellent, good sized portions, & fresh. They have pickles, beets & cole slaw on each table, and the sweet potato fries were great. My nieces shared a slice of cheesecake & they loved it. Very nice service, a bit slow because they don't rush you out, very down home, with lots of Brooklyn memorabilia all around. Evoked many childhood memories for me shopping and eating in downtown Brooklyn!!!!

I ordered London broil twice- once at lunch, once at dinner; both times it came as ordered - rare as could be inside and charred ourside--perfect! A turkey reubens sandwich was also very good. Grilled salmon lunch was excellent. Fries are above average. Fried chicken was terrific but expensive at dinner (4 big pieces $14.50); the mashed potatoes was to die for. Complimentary items (cole slaw, beets, pickles, bread) were excellent. Lunch is a bargain, but dinner while more expensive is fairly priced and considering how good the food is--well worth every penny. Of course, we bought a cheesecake to take home. Service was the tops. Atmosphere was fine--crowded, but not crowded in.,

Junior's never dissapoints me and it shouldn't dissapoint you either. Try to order something more "southern" (which is probably the reason why you go) and you will definitely be satisfied. One of my favorites is BBQ ribs and fried steak. If you're not into soul food, the desserts are one of the best in brooklyn. They are moderately priced for high quality. I especially like there newest creation "strawberry shortcake cheesecake" and this is definitely the #1 place for cheesecake in Brooklyn.

I've been coming to Junior's since 1974 or so, when they were declared to have the best Cheesecake in the city and Brooklyn was still a foreign country to me (I was an upper west sider at the time, and you still couldn't walk on Columbus Ave, if that dates me). Junior's has moved with the times, rolled with the neighborhood and still has the freshest food, the BEST breakfasts and brunches and service worthy of old time-y NYC Hotels--courtly and unobtrusive. Give them a try, there's nothing I've ever eaten here that I haven't loved.
