how is that junior's cheesecake slice a sliver??

just gotta say to the lady below who called the mammoth slices of cheesecake they serve at Junior's 'a sliver'.. How? I can't finish that with the help of another person and I'm no skinny-minny-don't-do-desserts.. Either you're one of those exceptional people that can eat 4 big macs in one sitting or you're just hating because its free airtime and you can... Junior's cheesecake ROCKS and the portions are very generous. The rest of their food, as some others have said, is just fine - its not michelin star but they're not trying to be. Its diner/comfort-type all-american food and for what it is its really very good. Perhaps people should order something other than chicken fingers.. try the brisket.. or the steakburger.. even the chef's salad.. all great in my opinion. Bon appetit!

    I liked it.

I know a lot of these reviews are negative on the food, cheesecake aside. But I have to say that as long as you understand what to expect, it is a very good time and the food is delicious, in its way. It is very old-school New York/BK, we are lucky it is still around. The service is decent enough. The food is definitely on the comfort food/soul food/jewish soul food side of things. Not a place to visit on a diet. We had southern food and loved it. And yes, the cheesecake is not just good for cheesecake, it's the very best (except for a goat cheese one at Gramercy Tavern - but that's a totally unfair comparison). The devil's food cheesecake is quite possibly the best dessert in the five boroughs. The haters are fools. Up with Junior's.

    Overrated!

The cheesecake is really good but that's about it when it comes to Juniors. Admittedly, I ordered the overpriced cheeseburger that came with fries and onion rings and my friend had the chicken fingers with fries and they were horrible...absolutely tasteless. The service was great; our waiter was attentive but based on this one experience I do not think I would be eating here again perhaps the other dishes are better but how can you mess up a burger and fries? Just wrong.

    Not worth the price

I bought a piece of Juniors Strawberry cheesecake the other day and I wish that I had looked in the bag before I left becasuse the piece was just a small sliver. I paid $6.50! In this economy I really do know how to make cheescake at home!

    overratted and overpriced

I had high hopes with all the NY hype around Junior's...but what a disappointment! Overpriced mediocre food (admittedly, I didn't try the "famous cheesecake"). The one saving grace was that the server was very attentive and friendly.

    Cheesecake good, Food not good

We've always been fans of the cheesecake here, ever since moving to Brooklyn. The first time we ordered food we got a simple cheeseburger and fries. The fries were soggy, cheesburger huge and greasy, overall a subpar meal. For some reason months later we tried again with onion rings and chix fingers. I have never had such poor onion rings, they tasted like they had been fried in two week old fishy oil. The chicken fingers were also pretty bad. Also, even though we ordered 20 minutes in advance over the phone, it took another 15 minutes for them to get my order together once I arrived. My recommendation, stick with the cheesecake.

don't eat anything but the cheesecake

The cheesecake is amazing...really really heavy on the ingredients so save a lot of room. As far as the rest of the menu...don't even go there. i've tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and all have been unbelievably disappointing. They have obviously put all their focus on the cheesecake and neglected to make anything else on the menu worth ordering. French toast...not even worthy of the title. tuna melt sandwich...not good. hamburger...i've had better at at fast food chains. AND on top of that, they are so way overpriced, its ridiculous! i suppose they can afford to charge a kidney for the cheesecake because each piece probably has 2 sticks of butter in there...but come on with the overpricing of everything else. the food isn't worth half of what they charge. stick to the dessert menu and you wont be disappointed.
