Joy Burger Bar

I'm downtown girl and I rarely go above 86th Street. I make an exception anytime I'm craving the BEST burger in the city! I'm super picky and a complete food snob and I have high expectations for food quality anyplace I go. I'm telling you - EVERYTHING on the menu is worth the trip! Fresh, all-natural, healthy and delicious. Quality of the food is fantastic. There are so many varieties of delicious sauces, yummy toppings from portobello mushrooms to many varieties of gourmet cheeses. The service is extremely fast, especially since everything is prepared fresh on the grill right in front of your eyes. They also have amazing veggie burgers and salads for the vegetarians out there and plenty of delicious sides from fresh-sliced sweet potato fries to zucchini sticks to the most incredible home fried potatoes. You must try their homemade mint lemonade and iced tea too. They also feature a full beer and wine menu with many great options. I even threw my brother a birthday party there with about twenty people and the service and food was exceptional. I take all of my friends there whenever they are visiting from out of town. My LA friends have said it beats In and Out Burger ten times over! My NYC foodie friends can't believe there is such a hidden gem uptown. They should open up a bunch more locations!

This is to address the other people's criticism of Joy's delivery/service. The other day I ordered and they took over an hour to deliver - usualy they are fast for me. When I called back after 40 minutes, they said my order was next out the door. HOWEVER they called me back 5 minutes later, apologized, and took 50% off the price. Maybe they have a few kinks - but at least they care and are working them out. Give them a chance.

i had a take out from this place and the food is really good, i wish their spicy mayo could be very spicy other than that no problem. the price is affordable

First of all i must say that i gave them 4.5 instead of 5 just to make them alert , and not to complacent . But they really deserve a 5. every time that a friend coms to visit me, a family member or even someone that live in the city,i allways like to show off by telling them about the hidden places that only New Yorkers know , like magnolia bakery, patsys pizza ,the roasting plant (for coffee) and more, but now i must add to the list (and to tell you the truth , right now its first on my list - JOY BURGER - they truly are the best The food is delicious , i was never disappointed from any dish i ordered and they put all kinf of souses inside that i think even if i ate it with a sole it was delicious. No one has their souses . Plus every time you come they have good music . Service? never had a complaint they keep up with new york city pase- Their service is a fast food service - Fast. And One Last Thing - Do you know how can you tell that a place has good food ? Every Time You Order , Your Dish Stays The Same as The Last Time You Ate There, Nothing Changes (that is why you keep coming back...)

I give this place “TWO THUMBS UP” for quality and service. It is a very friendly atmosphere with an extraordinary service. The food is fresh, tasty and they cook it right in front of you. The menu is simple and yet you can choose from variety of sauces and dressings to stimulate your taste buds. Very reasonable pricing for such high quality food.

I am a man of flavour and really enjoyed everything i've tried on the menu. The burgers are so tasty and there are a nice variety of sauces that you can eat there often and not get sick of it. The music and outdoor tables make the environment really comfortable and pleasant. Good for eating alone or with a group. I also like that you can have a beer or glass of wine with your meal. I've ordered delivery a few times and the food came fast and was fresh and hot. I would recomend this place to anyone looking for good food at good prices which is hard to find in the city. Try the grilled chicken sandwhich if you want to lighten up your day.

I've had a lot of burgers in NYC, but JOY Burger Bar by far tops them all. I went in on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. I ordered and received my Maxi burger within minutes. This burger joint is extremely unique and there is none like it that i've been to in NYC. I recommend Joy Burger to everyone because it is great tasting food, fast service, and the staff makes sure you have a great experience. Hands down A+
