    Cust Service Not so Good

Placed an order and forgot my milkshake. I called them back and said feel bad making the guy come back for just a milkshake. She says we can put towards your next order and not charge you for it. I say thats great. 3 days later when I ordered and I told them how they forgot my milkshake last time. He tells me there are no notes on the account. I said well I am a customer that orders from you all the time and it was just 3 days ago. He said he cant do anything. I asked to speak to a manager and he says there is no manager present. How does a company run with no manager, there has to be someone in charge and there wasnt. He said I would have to call back tomorrow. I was like you got to be kidding me, over a milkshake. I decided not to even place my order with them because of such treatment. This is not customer service at all and no management around if issues arises. Doesnt look like it is run well, a bunch of kids running it I guess.

The devil is in the details!

The food is very very tasty and filling! However, what impressed me the most is the care and organization of the people that work there. I am a teacher and on Fridays my co-workers and I (8-12 teachers and staff) like to order our lunch. Many times our orders are incomplete, 1-2 hours late and cold. Today we ordered from Joy Burger Bar and not only did our food arrive hot and tasty, all of our orders were numbered (as requested) packaged individually and COMPLETE! What a breath of fresh air for all of our super organized and type-A personalities! We love Joy Burger Bar and will order from there again. Thank you JBB staff!

    Amazing delivery spot!

Ordered delivery from here. The burger was delicious and hit the spot. I got a midi burger (the medium 5oz size) with cheese, tomato, ,jalapenos, portobello mushroom, sauteed onion, and lettuce. You can choose multiple sauces - I really liked the garlic mayo and chimichuri sauce. The burger was so juicy. But the bun was not up to par. It was definitely a very messy dinner. Had to wash my hands 3 times to get all of the burger smell off. Totally worth it though.

    Love this joint

I first went to Joy almost 3 years ago, & I can't believe I didn't review it then, because I loved it. Since then, I haven't been back much, but I just stopped in tonight with my roommate, & I'm still in love. I really enjoy my burgers unseasoned, so Joy's approach is wonderful to me. I've eaten Joy burgers with vegetable add-ons only & with sauces, & I've really enjoyed both variations. I like that I can get a midi-sized burger that doesn't feel paper thin & chewy & leave me to fill up on fries, but doesn't send me into a coma once I stagger home either. Juuust right. But I think what I really love about Joy is the setting. The decor is so comforting to me. For some reason, the old-fashioned diner chairs & stools & tables don't strike me as tacky or silly, like the similar decor of Chat & Chew. The open-air feeling that the huge windows create always makes it feel like summer. & I adore that it's at the top of that treacherous hill, at the foot of Spanish Harlem, so I can see the bridge all lit up & twinkling like a constellation while I'm sauntering home.

    legend in the making

This place is a legend in the making- The burgers absolutlely rock.. always very juicy and something about the very fine lean minced beef that gives it a great texture. When I say lean though I dont mean dry and bland as these burgers are greasy and juicy as ever! The fine grains of meat hug each other very well so each bite ensures the next bite will be just as good unlike the burgers that are loaded with too much fat which fall apart after a couple of bites. The patty is always bigger than the bun but just right and not monsterously so that all the ingredients meld together and dont overpower each other. The juices are also just right and never soak the buns to oblivion- My brother visits this place 3 times a week since its opening; guess its a good thing he lives only a block away. The burgers can be topped with an assortment of sauces but I would highly recommend the Garlic mayo and spicey mayo.. YUM! The burgers come in 3 sizes but I always go for the Maxi = BIGGEST. Prices are very reasonable too. I havent tried their shakes but I hear they are awesome. They also serve terrific crispy buffalo wings- not drenched in sauce. Onion rings are great.. fries are pretty good too (they are like fried potato discs if i remember correctly) The place is run by 2 brothers and their pop I think- and one of them looks exactly like SYLER from Heros! Might I add they are very nice people- I've been there a few times and each time they asked how it was for me- my reply in a huge grin: orgasmic! d(^.^)b

    Not recommended

I feel like I was tricked. I had been told by a friend that this was one of their favorite burgers of all time. I didn't realize the genre was "low grade fast food". The burger was so sloppy that using my hands was nearly impossible. By the time I opened the wrapper this burger was sitting in a sweaty pool of grease. The burger was so mushy that it tasted like all the ingredients had been put into a blender. I ate half, and will never eat Joy Burger again.
