Not recommended
I keep trying to come back here due to nostalgia of what is was years ago. Every time I regret it. The food is no longer worth it- You can't sell me a baguette (for my soup) that your brie and tomato sandwich comes on unless I buy the entire entire brie/tomato sandwich, and yet you only offer a 'wheat' version of wonder bread? You no longer make your own hummus? Let alone the simple brie/tomato sandwich?

Renovations Not Always A Good Thing
This use to be such an amazing hide away in my home of Washington Heights. I remember so many lazy afternoons and late mornings in this quant and cozy place...I felt like home on my great aunts porch. Now, however, they've remodeled, the food is subpar, and the interior is cold and is like any rip off chain with expensive dry sandwiches. I am a neighborhood regular that after trying a few times post remodel can not return. Sorry Jou Jou, but you've lost my business and my recommendations to friends and my B&B guests.

Used to be so much better!!!
New management came in and made a lot of poor decisions; it's all about sandwiches now, and all of them taste bad! I still remember the glorious Israeli pannini, and the amazing sonoma chicken; all I have left is the poor versions of those to 'enjoy' of...

Cute Addition
Great addition to the nieghborhood. Love the selection of sandwiches. This is one of the few places I can find something vegetarian. The music can be a bit annoying however, depending on the music played from the staff's ipod. Not a place I would sit back to enjoy a good book.

wait, pay
The sandwiches here are good and the soup is amazing, but the staff takes forever and your take-out lunch ends up costing $14. It looks cozy but is too busy to be a comfortable place to sit most of the day. They also run out of many of their sandwiches by late in the day.

Don't recommend them for catering
We relied on prompt delivery for a meeting. They were almost an hour late, and we were lied to and given excuses every time we called/went over there to check up. The whole order didn't come in.

Poor service
This cafe offers very poorservice. First, check the total amount you paid. Because every sales worker there charges you differently. I got charged $1 more several times compared to the listed price. Second, the service is very poor, they were mad at the customer when we pronounced the name of the food wrong. I am glad that starbucks opened on the corner. At least better service is guaranteed there!
