    Pleasant, but Needs to Stretch

I must admit liking Josie's. Maybe it's the pleasant atmosphere, the clean look of the place, or the wonderful bread. But after many visits for lunch and dinner, I usually leave thinking "okay, I expected more." Don't get me wrong: Josie's offers very good and fresh food, but I always feel the kitchen should challenge itself more. Maybe it's the tired menu or the, yes, high prices, but I know Josie's can do better. The stir fries and the meat loaf dish are very good as are most of the soups and desserts. Watch the drinks--your bill rises in geometric proportions. Maybe it's time to revamp the menu.

    Is it really health food?

I go to school and live right by Josie's and have been a few times this year. The food is OK...they are very unethusiastic about substitutions (they even say so on the menu). Also, their food is inconsistent...I recently went with four friends, two of which ordered the same salad. One came with avocado...the other didn't. I ordered a dish that came with whole wheat tortillas, which they told me after serving me the dish, they had run out of. But what irks me the most, is that a place promoting itself as healthy and organic, knows little about the ingredients of their food. At other organic and health conscious restaurants in the city, waiters are well conversed on ingredients, methods of preparation, etc. At Josie's, some of the waitresses seem to be clueless, and I have been told different things by different servers about the same item. This makes me skeptical about how organic and healthy the food really is...

    Poor Service/OK Food

We ordered food from Josie's for delivery, waited over an hour for the delivery, which was lacking part of the order when it arrived. The restaurant did not care that they had made an error and did nothing except to say it would be another hour before the additional food would arrive. Their salads are pre-made and are not fresh. Careful what you order.

    Interpeter for delivery??

I have visited Josies a number of times and def. enjoy the food. However, ordering delivery is quite a challenge. Feel free to hire anyone you want to work, but please ensure the person answering the phone is able to understand your own menu when calling in an order.

    More Salsa...less Attitude

I absolutely loved my first brunch at Josie's. I ordered the breakfast burrito and I can't recommend it enough. The salsa alone is to die for. It tasted better than any breakfast burrito I have ever had and much more flavorful. I disagree with reviewers that argue that the food lacks flavor if anything the food is busting at the seams with flavor. My only complaint is the cold attitude from the servers. They weren't friendly and despite the exceptional food, you also pay for service.

    healthy and good!

I have been here many times and am always happy. It is not cheap but the food is consistently good. I love the macadamia salad, sushi, and pastas. The wine list has enough selections and the martinis are good. This place is always crowded. I will continue going back.

20% off Bottles of Organic Wine!

Go to Josie's in Monday or Tuesday nights. The service is great, because the restaurant isn't that crowded, plus, Mondays and Tuesdays they offer all their bottles of delicious organic wine at 20% off. I was pleased to learn that unfinished bottles can be recorked and taken to go by my extremely knowledgable server. She was charming, knew the menu inside and out, and made excellent recommendations on the wine. For such a small restaurant, with all organic wines, the selection was amazing. There are wines from all over the world, using varietals that you don't see every day. Live a little...try something other than Pinot Grigio or Merlot...Josie's staff can definately point you in the right direction to make your dining experience full of delightful surprises.
