I took my meat-loving hubby here for the first time last weekend. I admit, I was a little worried that the "healthy" aspect would put him off, but he had steak frites and declared it "better than Ben Benson's" - an old favorite. The steak and fries came with peppers and onions - I tried a mouthful and it was delicious. It was a special on that night, but I hope they put it on the menu proper. Who could resist fries with a third of the fat of regular ones, but that still taste great? Dessert a little ordinary. Service was charming. Overall a healthy surprise! PS Their chicken teriyaki stirfry on the takeout menu is to die for. Josie's is about to get two new regulars!

I realize that this is just a local uws restaurant so i'm not expecting that much, but i just had my second dinner in a row here with below average/rude service. Little things like not serving bread until your order is placed and not allowing very simple subsitutions should not be the way a restaurant that charges $17 for a salad operates.

My non veggie-husband and my vegetarian self both loved our food at Josie's. Lots of choices, good portions, NOT bland at all, even for my spice loving husband. I will definitely be back.

The food here is okay. i live in the area and have been going here on and off throughout the years. actually, the food really depends on the day...some days they do a good job other times they really screw it up. it seems like the portions are never consistent too. my friend and i ordered the same thing and my portion was A LOT more generous than hers. now seriously, it seems like almost every waiter here is poorly trained or has a bad attitude. There are a lot better restaurants in the area which I would suggets spending your money at.

I do like the atmosphere and service but the food is bland and they recently revamped the menu that took away the mushroom ravioli that my father enjoyed. I will not be back.

My friends and i went to the west side josie's for their thanksgiving day prix-fixe menu. We had a reservation; however, by our seating, the kitchen ran out of one of the appetizers, and unbelieveably, all three of the dessert choices. The management was not apologetic and did not offer any compensation. The food has always been good and tonight was no different, but it would have been nice if the management/kitchen had accounted for the number of people with reservations when preparing a holiday dinner menu. We were disappointed not only in the remaining food choices, but also in the way the manager failed to answer our frustrations. In the future, i will stick to the east side location.

I have gone to Josie's for a while, and have always enjoyed the yummy, healthy food and the fun atmosphere, despite the longish wait. But this last time, they said a 5-10 minute wait, which was 45 minutes, the service was slow, and although the waitress was lovely, the manager was unfriendly when we mentioned that we were a little frustrated by the whole thing. Plus, it's gotten more and more expensive with fewer vegetarian options.
