Amazing and its good for you....

I just went there yesterday and had a great turkey meatloaf and apple pie. I would suggest this place for someone who is trying to eat healthy and have a nice meal out. I am tring to stay good when I am eating out and would suggest this place for anyone tring to do the same.

    Tasty, expensive, service needs help!

First impressions are hard to fix. I was by myself. The place was nearly empty. A lot of servers were walking by my table barely even aknowledging my existence. After 10 minutes someone finally took my order. My waiter was very friendly but when I wanted to hurry up, get dessert and leave (I was already there for an hour and 1/2), I saw him talking to another server for 15 minutes. He apologized and said that he was busy with "another party". Yeah. The food however was very good. The butternut squash soup was silky, sweet and yummy (it can use without the pesto though- I do not get how it goes with the sweetness of the squash). The macadamia nut crusted chicken salad had a pretty presentation. When I mixed the chicken with the avacodo, greens, orzo, mango and hearts of palm it was very tasty (needed a tad more dressing). The only desserts in the prix fixe were icecream (blueberry soy or cinnamon)- I went with the chocolate pie for an extra 2 dollars- it was nice, not to swoon over. What was swoon worthy was the bread- YUM. The whole grain and the corn were phenomenal. They also give you a squash spread but I'm sure you can ask for butter or oil. Nice tea selection also. Overall I had a good experience but for the price the wait staff should be more attentive.

Wine list A+ and a BEAUTIFUL burger!

I went to Josie's with my new girlfriend, she is a vegetarian, and I was very pessimistic with her choice to go here: considering I am true carnivore. I was very happy to see that there menu included one on the best cheeseburgers I have ever had. The burger was large enough to satisfy my well know hunger and this is was very surprising considering I have been known to eat very large quantities. My biggest surprise was out wine list. I had a glass of Calara Pinot Noir single vineyard. This was a steal at $15 a glass considering I paid $115 for the bottle at a steak house 2 weeks before. Overall I will happy go back and my girlfriend will like me more!

    Lovin the steak specials

Order the steak special, I have now had it three times, and 3 out of 3 it has been excellent. The service is good, depending on your server. A bit overpriced but you'll probably find that for the steak at least, the prices are fairly average for the quality.

    Good food but . . . .

Josie's serves good food and packages delivery orders nicely, but I have two complaints. First, it's too expensive. The portions are rather modest. And Josie's apparently thinks that organic food should command a substantial premium, but anyone who's been to Fairway lately knows that's not how it has to be. Second, the service needs improving. Each of my last three delivery orders has been incorrect in some way (e.g., several missing ingredients in an entree salad).

    Great food!

love the food here and the wine is great too-the chicken is always delicious and the service was great (except for the bartender who needs to pick up the pace and learn some manners). But will be back soon-great neighborhood place!

    Excellent, highly recommended

Great place, nice atmosphere. Excellent service-I rarely cook for myself so I have been to more than a few restaurants over the years. That being said you can understand why I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to NYC eateries. In all my years I have never had such an enjoyable experience, primarily due to our waiter who could not have been more courteous, professional and knowledgeable. If your looking for great food and superior service do yourself a favor and check out Josie's you'll be glad you did.
