Just as I Remembered
I first had John's when my wife and I went to New York and got engaged. We remembered that they had the best egg rolls either of us have ever had. We have always reminisced of that dinner. I was in town for a conference, and fortunately was able to get by there again. The egg rolls were just as I remembered. They are the best I have ever had, anywhere. Highly recommend you visit John's if you are visiting NY.

Awesome!
Not sure where these negative comments are coming from but...I just tried John's for the first time and I found it to be quite good. Is it true authentic? Not really but close enough. For authentic you have to go to Chinatown. This is in Midtown. Will add this as one of my regulars.

Poor
Surly delivery man, expensive, and awful food, even the so-called great dumplings. Stick to Empire Szechuan and get great food for less without the delivery man attitude. Fast was about all that could be said for my less than appetizing and expensive delivery.

Delicious
Ordered in - steamed pork buns were delicious! Got a bunch of different dumplings, they were all very good too. Shrimp toast not great, didn't order entrees, I'd say stick with the dim sum type stuff - it's solid.

Peachy!
My food was excellent! I got shrimp and peaches and it was excellent. I highly recommend this place. My date and I had a wonderful meal and it was a wonderful environment as well. Two thumbs up!

Majorly Disappointing
Several of the same poor reviews is not a coincidence. The food was extremely disappointing here...reheated, not fresh, whatever it is, its just not good - plain and simple. There are much better places in Manhattan, even if youre unfortunate enough to be in Times Square.

Authentic is a relative term
This place calls itself "authentic", which can only be taken to mean that it is "authentic/geniune" in its "efforts" to be an authentic Chinese restaurant as the dishes it serves are far from authentic. The triple flavour dumplings taste as if they had been frozen for a long time, not fresh at all. The shrimp fried rice is covered with soy sauce (most probably the non-naturally brewed kind but the chemically derived black water), the shrimp tasted funny and soft and the green peas are hard. The only edible food is the Shanghai juicy buns but 1 out of 3 is pathetic in any evaluation. Bad to the bone.
