During my last experience the waiter was rude and inattentive. He screwed up our order, mixing toppings and pizzas and was totally unapologetic about it. He said, "If you want it the right way, order another one". What kind of customer service is that?? It was his mistake and he wouldn't own up to it. Boy did that leave a sour taste in my mouth. No food is worth that.

came in from Long Island, worth the trip, a real brick oven joint that doesnt overload with cheese. And the cheese was great . Crust is extremely well done which I enjoy. Took a while for the pie to come but attmosphere keeps you interested.

Called for delivery. Was on hold for literally 10 minutes. When the phone was finally answered, I said "delivery" and the person hung up. I know they're busy, but that's just ridiculous. I went to the website to e-mail a complaint and their website has been shut down.

Went to John's after a play. Service was prompt, beer was cold. Pizza was OK. Thin crust, a little bland to my taste. Reasonably priced. Good location and perfect after a Saturday matinee.

I read one bad review about this place and I thought that person had to be wrong but he was exactly right. It was extremely bland, tasteless and not even warm. We had to put salt, oregano, cheese (that we hd to search for ourselves) and we would have put garlic salt, but they didnt have any (in a pizzeria!) The other reviewers must be from friends of the owner. It seems that people from outside NY think this is good pizza, it is not NY pizza. I spent $60.00 for five people. That was for two small pies one with half spinach (6 small slices each pie) and 1 dish of pasta with butter ($8.95), and three cokes, one small salad. The service was the worst I've ever had and the place was practically empty at lunch time, which should have told us something. I would have liked to sit under the beautiful sky dome, but the host did not want us to move our seat, so we sat off to the side with out a view of the dome while there were many seats available under the dome. The building used to be a church and I would have thought that would have added to the charm, but it was a cold atmosphere and dull ,unless you were to walk over to the center to look up at the stainglass dome. Donot believe the picture on their website, it makes it look much more inviting than it is. Our waiter took our order and never came back to us once he brought over the pizza. We never had napkins or a clear space on the table. A bus boy did refill the water once right before we left. I dont know if the service or the pizza was worse. Also, the tables and floor were very sticky. The bathroom was dingy and dirty. If you want good Italian food in the city, go to almost any pizzeria/restaurant in Little Italy. I cant imagine how this place stays in business.

I'm confused as to why this place has such a good reputation? That was the blandest pizza I've ever had in my life. I had to salt it. I've never had to salt my pizza before! It wasn't bad, it was just tasteless. The crust was good, I'll give them that. But the cheese! Definitely disappointing pizza. And the calimari was not good. Tasted like straight up fried egg. I don't even understand how one does that to calimari.
