    Never had such bland pizza...

Bland, bland, bland bland...I've never tasted pizza so bland. Staying in a times square hotel, decided not to get pizza via room svc, but instead to go to John's. What a disappointment. Don't waste your time or money. I ask the folks at John's ... "have you tried your own food lately"?

    Unpleasant experience

My husband and I are big fans of the West Village one so we went to eat here expecting the same quality of food and service. What a dissapointment!!!! We ordered a pizza with prosciutto and got super salty pieces of ham draining water all over our pizza. When we complained to the waiter he got all aggressive and told us "this is how it is done here". After much discussion we got it taken off our bill but we still had to pay for the pizza which was all salty and wet. Definitely another midtown tourist trap!!! Take the subway downtown!

    Down hill

I've gone to John's 2x. 1st was o.k. which was about 10 years ago. Second time was in September. I will never go back. It has turned into a tourist trap. The pizza is terrible. I had the Margherita which was bland with no cornicone what so ever. The sauce had absolutely no flavor. The mozzarella is not fresh. I watched the pizzaiolo deliberately flatten the cornicone. I also asked what temperature he cooked the pies at and he didn't know. My wife had a meatball parm hero which was bland and dried out.

    I just don't get it...

I went recently with my family and was so disappointed. Quality & taste lacking. We paid $20 for a 6 slice pie that was mediocre at best. The panini was tasteless and the chicken parm sub lacked chicken. It was all bread and not even good bread. No free refills of coffee - are the kidding? When we were leaving the line was out the door. This is nyc - there are so many better pizzerias!!! So as i said, i just don't get it...

Possibly the most subpar pizza I've ever had

We had reservations for 16 at lunch....they made us guarantee a $15 minimum per person plus the 20% gratuity for a large party. The pizza had no taste whatsoever...the blandest sauce I've ever had, hardly any cheese and I couldn't find the mushrooms I had ordered. The waitress was pleasant enough but the man who brought the pizzas to the table hit me in the head and then knocked over my water glass. (If he had let me know he was behind me I would have moved). Plus he put all the pizzas in the wrong spot so we had to get up and serve ourselves using napkins as potholders. It was also way too dark in there.

Decent food and value - cool atmosphere but LOUD

Went to the John's Pizzeria in Times Square. The food was decent, I split a mahgerita pizza which was just okay, nothing special. My parents enjoyed splitting a mushroom and spinach calzone stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheese. All together, for the pizza, calzone, fried cheese appetizer, 3 soft drinks, and a goblet of wine it was only $80 It was very loud inside though, you practically had to scream just to hear the person across the table from you. No problems getting in right away on a very busy Friday night!
