We stopped in for lunch after an early show of Wintuk. It was absolutely wall to wall people and incredibly loud. The food was good. Chicken pesto panini was excellent, and antipasto was more than enough to share. Pizza was thin crust and very tasty.

The pizza, entrees an appetizers were all above par, and our group of 15 was well taken care of.

As a NYer and lover of good pizza, this pizza was more on par with Papa John's instead of authentic NYC pizza. Bland with a burnt bottom crust, this pizza was not the pizza I remember when I first started going here back in the 80's and 90's. There are much better and CHEAPER places in NY than John's. $38 for 2 small pies...Plain and Sausage/Pepperoni/Ground Beef. RIP John's.

Don't listen to any bad reviews about the pizza. I'm both a New Yorker and an Italian and know good pizza. I went here with friends who know all the best pizza places in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and John's is now one of our favorites. I loved the traditional whole wheat pizza. It's delicious and made so well. Not greasy at all and unlike other popular pizza places does not make you feel gross and heavy at the end of the meal. The restaurant used to be a church which makes for a really interesting look. And go figure - it's in Times Square of all places! The only downside is that the whole restaurant is rather loud. But it's still one of my favorites. Definitely worth the trip....and the second trip...and maybe a few dozen after that....

The concierege at the Crowne Plaza recommended this place...I should give him a gift card! The pizza and calamari were spectacular and the service was the same. Great drinks, great food, great service...sure they charge NYC prices, but I left there with a smile on my face!

Me and my friends were told to go here by a local. On our way to John's we passed at least ten other pizza shops, so we knew that this place had to be good. We ended up only getting the traditional pizza and it was amazing! The sauce on their pizza was to die for and they used the best cheese. All of us have been craving that pizza since we had it (and it has been a couple of days) and can not wait to go back again.

i've never had a bad experience here. whenever we want a great meal but don't want to pay manhattan prices we always go to john's. as a vegetarian, i always order the margharita pizza. the sauce is wonderful, and the mozzerella extremey fresh! i always take friends and relatives visiting ny to john's and they have all uniformly loved the pies. the downtown location is excellent, but so is midtown. otherwise, we wouldn't keep going back again and again!
