Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, my group of three ordered a small pizza, a pasta dish and the roasted vegetables as an appetizer. The appetizer was delivered very quickly. It looked quited attractive but it was room temperature too cold. Maybe this is the way it was to be served but we felt it would have tasted much better if it was served warm. The pasta and pizza were served very quickly, even before we had finished with the appetizer. The pizza was quite large but had large areas of burnt crust around the entire edge of the pizza. We realized that we had received a large pizza instead of the small that we had ordered. When we asked the waitress about this, she allowed that the wrong size pizza had been delivered and that it was "a bit overdone." It would have been nice if she had refused to deliver the pizza to us and then re-ordered it for us. We didn't appreciate her serving us a burnt pizza when she was quite aware that it was overdone. However, we kept the pizza and just didn't eat the edges of it. The server charged us for a small plain pizza in compensation. So, in all, we liked the atmosphere but the service and food need some attention.

Wow. Just as good as Lombardi's. The cheese is awesome.

We've been to John's several times and have never been disappointed. There may be better pizza around but the atmosphere inside and outside makes it worth the trip. The service is good. The wait staff is very attentive. This Sunday is Mother's Day. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for dinner. You're right.....we're going to John's. It's a 40 minute bus ride from North Jersey but it's worth it.

I had heard a lot about Johns, so I decided to try it. It was ok but I have had a lot better.

We just walked into John's off the street on a whim for lunch awaiting a show. The food was excellent and very fair priced. The chicken sandwiches and pizza were really good. We were served quickly and had a very friendly server. I recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a nice informal lunch in the theatre district.

What a wonderful dinner experience! We weren't going into NYC too often because we didn't know where to eat and felt intimidated. So 2 years ago we came in and were going to eat at a big name restaurant. The prices shocked us so we wandered down the street and found John's. It was a wonderful food experience and we've come into NYC 4 times since then and eaten at John's each time. It's been a love affair with food and the prices aren't bad either. We haven't had a problem with the service, just that you should ask for the check soon after your food arrives so that you can take care of the bill when you are ready, in case they get busy. Tonight we go in to see Mamma Mia and guess where we are going to eat! John's, of course!

John's is one of my favorite restaurants in the theater district. The food is good and I like the atmosphere. It tends to have fewer tourists and more locals (probably because it looks small from the street entrance). The pizza rolls are my favorite. The service can be really bad, so don't run in 30 minutes before a show!
