Solid Pizza
People, this is not a restaurant. Let's be honest here......it's a run of the mill NYC pizza place that happens to have a deserted dining room in the back. The prices are really not much higher than any other pizza place on the UES. So let's just stop with all the pettiness about price and focus on the actual quality of the slice (i.e. crust, sauce, cheese, proportions) and the state of the pizza pie when it arrives via delivery (i.e. cold or hot?, runny cheese?) Nobody normal would actually sit down and eat there, especially if you have kids. That being said, I would put John and Tony's slice up against any traditional pizza place in the entire East 60's neighborhood. The pizza arrives hot and the crust is mildly crispy. It's on the thinner side of the pizza spectrum, so if you like a thick, massive, cheese runneth over type of slice, this is not the pizza place for you. The cheese to sauce ratio of the slice is right on target for my taste. Additionally, I find the tomato sauce to be rich and sweet, but it is not overpowering and it does not dominate the slice. The pizza is not lacking in cheese by any means, but it's not overly saucy either. The pizzaiolas there manage to strike a nice blend. Delivery has never exceeded 35 mins, even when I'm ordering at 2:00am after a long night out. Bottom Line....This place is nothing to write home about by any stretch of the imagination, but they make a solid slice of pizza and they stay open late. Expecting anything else is craziness.

Excellent Pasta
I order pasta from there all the time. The quality is fantastic and the price is great. I've ordered similar dishes from several local places and they are always more expensive and never as good. The food is super fresh. Also the choc chip cookies are amaaaaaaazing. Coming from a picky eater this place is far and away my favorite in the hood.

Great Quality, Great Prices
I was pleasantly surprised how good and how cheap this place is. This italian place is one of the best in the neighborhood for an everyday meal. I can't seem to stop ordering the penne alla vodka. I have only done delivery and I can say the people who pick up the phone are extremely nice and helpful and the food is exactly what you want. I was surprised I could get a meal and 3 apps for under $20. The portions are big so you can share. I highly recommend this place

Loved it
I love it! I go everytime I have a playdate in midtown . I love the fact that I go and can bring the kids no hard time from staff and they are really nice and treat my girls like lil grown up ::. Putting their drinks in fancy glasses. And the food. Is great. I have order everything loved it all and addicted to their bread basket and different olive oils ::: not to sound crazy but I am not rich and 4 ppl for less than $50 in midtown is a find! ! It may not be fancy but the back of the restaurant is definitely cozy. love to go back soon

What's everyone complaining about?
This is a cute little place next to the bridge. The dining room reminded me ot NY before everything became so incredibly trendy. Food was pleasant. What I really don't get is the criticism of the prices. Have these people not eaten out anywhere else in the neighborhood? I think it's a tremendous value. Hubby and I ate dinner, with wine, tax and tip, for $45. The critics should get out of their apartments, take a walk, and see what's up with other sit-down restaurants. Oh, and the service was just fine!

Downnnnn hilll
Used to order from here all the time. Food, compared to others is okay, but shell of former stuff. Price raises are adding to the problems. Gotta agree with other reviewer, overpriced. Add the rude customer service and you got one restaurant dive bomb. Also, if they screw up an order, don't expect them to take care of it cuz the customer is always wrong

Too Expensive
They are truly out of their minds with these prices. Nearly double every other pizza place. Food is good which makes the situation worse.
