    great for a take-out

Grab a couple of slices and sit down in Father Demo Square and watch the world go by. A good solid thin crust NY pizza. Sure the place is small and the service can leave a lot to be desired but we don't go there for that. Not a great pizza but darn close to it.

    best pizza

i had joe's and bleeker's within minutes of each other and joe's is the winner hands down albeit service isn't wonderful as its a pizzeria and they are very busy. if they didn't move that fast, everyone would be waiting forever for a slice

One of the most overrated places in town

It's always been one of the biggest culinary mysteries to me. Why do people make such a fuss over Joe's Pizza? It is maybe half a tick better than your average, lazy, bad NYC street slice.

    Dissapointed all around

I paid $3.50 for a margherita slice. It wasn't very good, the service was rude, and the slice wasn't even hot.

    Average, with attitude

no idea why this place gets good reviews. pizza is just ok, there's a much better slice a block away at Bleecker street pizza. Also the guys at Joe's serve it to you as if they're doing you a favor.

watch out for their delivery guys!

their pizza is fine. they raise their prices consistently. it ends up being almost thirty bucks for a large pie with a couple toppings. BUT, it's their delivery guys that are noteworthy, and not in a good way. Make sure you get the total from the order-taker on the phone. A number of times a delivery guy has shown up with the pizza and verbally given me a total without showing me the receipt. They try to scam you with a higher total. Another thing they will try to do is figure out a way to gimmick an extra dollar tip here and there by not having enough change so that you'll have to round up higher.

    Can't Live Without Joe's!

I live on MacDougal for 16 years and eat Joe's 2 to 3 times a week 52 weeks a year. No other pizza compares and I have given up trying others. They are by far the best - especially when they are busy. If you see a line be happy because that means it will be fresh from the oven. I bet the luke warm reviewers had gotten their pizza when they weren't that busy. The sauce is simple and sweet to compliment the salty cheese and chewy crust. You can't beat it! I see they have salads, a grandma slice and white pizza listed on the menu here and in all my years I have never seen them so don't think they have them. Also the menu says $2.75 a slice, but it is only $2.50 and there are no glass bottles of coke either. The staff can be rude - not to me any longer since they know me by now, but I have seen it. The atmosphere is gross - but don't let that disuade you. Go to Joe's now for the best pizza anywhere!
