No screaming milk!
If you like espresso, go for the cortado! Great lower ratio of milk to espresso.

Excellent coffee made by knowledgable staff
Wonderful espresso made with care by baristas who know what they're doing. Tasty light fare (baked goods, pastries, sweets) available as well.

Not at all over rated
Joe the art of coffee is great. They have changed over the years. They have gotten bigger, yet they continue to improve they're quality. BRAVO! Joe recently switched coffee roasters upgrading to Ecco. Joe is worth checking out and staying for a cup or two.

Meh...
I only had a cappacino here. It was very dissapointing. It didnt have a strong coffee flavor whatsoever. I am some of their other beverages are better. Service was great. They do make a nice design on the foam! They do have a nice collection of books to read, such as the coffee cultures of other cities. My search for great American coffee drinks continues...

overrated
Don't get me wrong, Joe serves some great pastries, and the people serving them are generally pretty nice, but their coffee isn't actually that good! And, I've really tried to give this place a chance, but everytime I go I'm disappointed. Whether the milk is scalded, the shot is not or both, its always bad. Plus, I've never been served by the same barista twice. So, why bother when there are so many shops in the city serving excellent coffees made by great baristas you can get to know who are truly talented, experienced artists? Not to mention that Joe is like New York's next coffee chain! I don't know about you, but I'll be avoiding Joe.

Don't ruin it for me... but it's GREAT..
I love Joe's. Sure, it's not cheap... and you might have to deal with a semi-celebrity here and there... but the coffee is good and strong, the people who work there are super super super nice, and did I mention that the coffee is strong.. and GOOD?! Seriously - it's a great place. I just wish they would change up the art a little often. And apparently, they are supposed to have a special espresso machine there- which may or may not be operational, but which is rumored to perfect shots. I personally like a red-eye at 3:30 pm. Maybe I will see you there! -the Chaperone -hit off my page for original music and a mix

Just a great neighborhood place!
Love it, the drinks are awesome, the pastries are all top notch and it's always a pleasure being there.
