Good Pre-Show Place
I liked the place, the service and the Food. The Food was great nothing but good, I promise you! But something was wrong with there House Wine (The Red wine was Mixed and the bottles were too long open). Our Show was great P & B, but our night sleeping was sleepless. What a shame! Still like the place and will order next time a closed bottle of wine. But "it's wat they say; a good restaurant should have at least -good- House wine".

Server issues
Simply stated...my wife, daughter, and I went here for a pre-theatre meal. I ordered the fish and chips, but was surprised to have recieved chicken. When I brought it to the server's attention, she completely blew me off. Didn't care whether I was pleased or not. She got loud and defensive, totally unprofessional. Needless to say, her attitude was reflected in the tip. Won't go back.

So-so
Loved the atmosphere as always. Waiter seemed very preoccupied with one of the other waiters. The 3 of us liked the food and the presentation was nice, but overall it wasn't as great as it used to be. Maybe we hit a bad day...not sure. Took way too long to get the waiter's attention to order dessert but he was very quick to bring the check before we asked. There were people waiting, but we were not there that long. If there was any delay it was the waiter's fault. Will go again, but if the service is the same...I'm done.

A bad service experience
My husband and I have gone to JA's many times, sometimes before theater, sometimes after. We recently had a very bad service experience. For one thing, we did not have one dedicated waiter - we had a several, and none seemed to communicate with each other. We sat ignored for long periods of time and finally had to flag down waiters; we ordered dessert and coffee - dessert came but again we had to get up and ask another waiter to bring the coffee. The waiters stood in groups chatting and ignoring customers. It's too bad because JA has always been our go to place. I hope management takes note and retrains their servers.

Great Pre-Theater Restaurant
Joe Allen is a perfect place to eat before the theater. You will find a varied menu from which you can even choose a terrific cheese burger. And, you will fond a terrific service staff that will always do their best to get you to the theater on time. You should always make reservations if you want to dine at Joe Allen before the theater - it usually is packed.

Food great, service strange
Went to Joe Allen on Wednesday night after the theater crowd had left. We were able to be seated immediately and our waiter was quite accomodating. He took our order and our food came in a reasonable amount of time. That was the last time we saw him. From that time on, we had 3 different waiters/waitress. I never knew whom to ask for a drink refill but the service really didn't suffer that much. Our dinner was good and for the price exceptional. Other than some confusion with the wait staff, the meal was good and I'll certainly return.

I'm a happy camper when…
there's a big juicy cheeseburger, fries, and pitcher of red wine on my table at Joe Allen. SO good! And, the waitstaff has ALWAYS been friendly to me. Don't think I could ever grow tired of Joe Allen!
