JivamukTea Cafe

Usually, I do not like saying anything bad, but hopefully they will improve. This place offers quick simple snack/lunch dishes and treats. I think they are good with what they offer. Now on to the bad part..... For what they do offer, it's greatly overpriced and their service is super slow. It's slow like they don't realize they are in NYC slow. I understand the yoga vibe and all, but they are ridiculous with the slowness, and they do not care. I have very short breaks at work. Bottom line, I was going to them for convenience, but now that peacefoods is open I will be going there. They offer more and they are fast and very accomodating. hope you improve bc I can get over the prices, but slow and bad service I cannot!

I've been eating here occasionally for the last year or so, and have never encountered anything but friendliness and helpfulness from the staff. I also find the atmosphere very pleasant and soothing. People seem free to linger there, working on computers, etc., in a very unpressured environment. I'm a bit of a one -trick pony when it comes to food orders, tending to stick with old reliables, because I like them so much. My main problem with the cafe is that it can be a bit pricey, but given the quality of the food and the pleasantness of the atmosphere, not enough to dissuade me from happily coming back.

Best Vegan food in the city, highly recommend! The staff is wonderful, lots of options from sandwiches, wraps, burritos, toasts, salads, create your own meal, smoothies, teas, coffees, and baked goods! Beautiful environment too great for hanging out or working on the laptop. And before you eat go take a yoga class at Jivamukti Yoga School! It will change your life.

I love Jivamuktea cafe!! I may eat here to much!! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is to die for!! I have no idea what they do to it but it is healthy and addictive!! The Yogis Choice with rosemary seitan, coleslaw, and quinoa is my absolute favorite thing to get.. That of course with one of their delicious Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Green Coconut Tea.! I LOVE LOVE this place can't say enough great things about it.. EAT HERE!!

I'm really stunned by the reviews here. I ate here for the first time two days ago, and the service was great but the food was definitely below average. The people at the counter and the cook were very pleasant and helpful but the food was so basic and boring I could have just eaten at home. Honestly you can get a better vegan sandwich down the street at Le Pain Quotidien. Plus the red velvet cupcake tasted like it came out of a box. Non vegans, please don't judge all vegan food based on this place. The only reason to eat here is because you've just finished a yoga class and you're too tired to go somewhere else.

Too bad the staff is horrible, because the food is really good. Delays are long, but i make sure i have enough time when i go there. unfortunately, i never WANT to go there anymore because of the staff. you would expect different from a vegan cafe in a yoga studio, even if it is one of the most commercial ones in ny. someone needs to step in and oversee the hiring and realize that the staff there also reflects on the image of the studio.

I don't know if it's possible for the staff at Jivamuktea to be any more rude. What's with these hostile yogis? Yeah, the food is cool, and can be quite tasty, and the environment pleasant for hanging out. But the people that work are bad enough for discourage me from going back.
