    No coincidence

Meant to come here for 5 months. made it over this afternoon. ordered mushroom burger w/ fries. notice the menu in the store will say $3.00 more if you switch the fries for Onion rings, otherwise +1 for fries. My cost should have been about 6.80-ish before tax. Waited around 15-20min for good shoestring style fries, nice burger bun (supple) but patty was over done. Good grilled flavor was only redeeming quality, you can find elsehwere. I was charged like 9.80 instead. Guy input the original charge and then somereason deleted it and reentered everything, odd. in these cases i wanted to whip out my plastic instead of my cash. Afterwards came to menupages and found recent reports of sleazy billing. this is my first, and LAST patronage.

    Jimbos management gone wrong

I ordered a burger with onion rings simple right. Guess again the burger came was over cooked and dry not to mention there was fries not onion rings. So i called and was told that it was a dollar more because onion rings cost more. I then asked him to tell me the exact cost if i had ordered it with onion rings and was told a dollar more which i then replied so thats fine tell me what the total cost would be then after back and forth back and forth he wouldnt tell me the total. just said he will send the onion rings and it would be a dollar more. I checked the receipt it said i was already charged for onion rings with my burger. delivery came i showed the delivery guy the actual cost with the delux added blue cheese onion rings and it came out to $10.80 the cost on the receipt and yes i have a calculator that includes tax and so on. The delivery guy said don't worry about it the guy on the phone was wrong. Wow they don't like being wrong and apparently dont want to send other food when they make those mistakes. I wont ever order or eat from this location as i have never been told that what i was seeing was wrong and that i can either have my order for a dollar extra not that it would have made a huge difference but come on why charge me for your mistake. you just lost a loyal customer may not be from this place but now i won't go to any of them.

    Seriously?....

Took an HOUR to deliver my simple burger and fries. I live 5 blocks away....seriously? The burger is good, not spectacular, ditto with the fries. The bottom bun was soggy with grease by the time i got it. Also I should have gotten pickles and coleslaw with my deluxe meal, but I did not receive any. I suppose it's a small issue, but depending on how big a pickle/coleslaw fan it might be important. The only saving grace was that the delivery man came smiling at me, which is pretty rare in NYC. Still, an hour for a cheeseburger with fries? Not gonna order from here again. Not worth the wait....

A "Hole in the Wall" Treasure

I was intruiged by the reviews (good and not-so-good) about this place and as someone who LOVES a good burger, I had to find out myself. It is, indeed, a very small place - 10 stools, 5 small tables. A vest-pocket diner sort of place. I ordered the swiss burger, then, a week later ordered the bacon swiss burger. I was amazed. THIS is what quality beef is supposed to taste like! The size is perfect - a nice thick burger that's a good size in width without being ridiculous. Both times the meat was cooked perfectly. What I couldn't really figure out the first time (so I had to return) was what tasted a little different about the meat. Then I realized it is the quality. This chopped meat burger tastes like what you might cook for yourself if you went to the trouble of getting the best chopped meat you could find and carefully cooking it just the way you would want. The french fries were ordinary, at best. I did discover, to my delight, that they make egg creams, a New York fountain pleasure that most diners don't offer. I am presently on a quest to find the best burger I can in New York and, so far, this one leads the pack. I will definitely be back

    Not recommended

I ordered a turkey burger deluxe and I was very disappointed. The turkey burger was spongy and had no flavor. The fries were skinny, soggy, and tasteless. For $9.00, I expected much, much more. In addition, the decor of the "restaurant" was kind of drab and dingy. Looking back, I should've left as soon as I saw the atmosphere.

The Best Take Out of It"s Kind

From burgers to PhiilyCheesesteaks, this place is indeed a palace. I have been ordering delivery from them for 16 years and the food and service has never wavered. Burgers done on the flat top grill are the absolute best. I have spent my life in the wine and food business and Jimbos rules. It is a neighborhood treasure. To not look at in that light is just foolish. I couldn't imagine a better burger/sandwich joint.
