Way too much praise for an okay Burger

People who simply say "greatest burger ever" either don't know any better or believe whatever they read in New York Magazine. The Burger is good, not amazing, and it is pretty small. If you want fries that'll cost you quite a bit extra and they will come in a dish so small you can count them at a glance. Even the beer comes in a small glass. Really overpriced and overhyped. Come on people, branch out!

    Nothing special here

I heard so much about how good the burgers here were that I had to try it. Well after the subpar service and having to wait forever for the food, I must say there is nothing to rave about. The burger was okay, I have had much better at numerous other places in the city with alot less headache.

    The greatest burger ever.

This is the greatest burger joint ever. Everything is good from the chili, to the burgers, and even the cake.

    Delicious burgers, friendly staff

Came here last night after hearing so much about their amazing burgers. We waited for about 15 minutes for a table, after being told it would be 40 -- pleasant surprise. Our food came out quickly, and was consumed quickly as well. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and LOVED it. The bacon was crispy, bun was buttery, and meat was juicy. It was the perfect, yet simple, burger. Fries were great too. An overall satisfying meal. Price was a little high -- but I think it's worth every penny.

    Nothing great

I have heard jg melon has amazing burgers so I figured i would give it a try First of all they act like its the opening night of bungalow 8 or something. You have to wait and I felt like they acting as if I was honored to be eating at jg melon. I thought the burgers were just ok. Nothing great. Its also over priced.

    Great Burger

I enjoyed the burger at JG Melon; however, there were tenement portions for Co-op prices. The burger was tasty and cooked slightly charred though medium rare on the inside (exactly as ordered) but I could have passed on the pricy fries that were so so at best. The service was not the most friendly and I understand why many people are outright offended. Our table was located in a corner and was both cramped and dark. Overall, an excellent burger if you are in the neighborhood but I would venture elsewhere for a good burger experience without unpleasantries (and high price).

I used to be a hot dog girl...

When my boyfriend introduced me to JG Melon I thought I'd have to go there with him every once in a while to keep him happy. After my first bite of a Melon cheeseburger I suggested we order another for dessert, and he told me about the amazing apple pie- which rivals the burgers. This place is great- the staff is fun, the wait is no fun, but worth it- and I'm glad it stays busy because if this place ever closes it will really be missed.
