JGM's does not have the best burger in town. I think you have to reserve that title for Corner Bistro or the Burger Joint. That said, this place has a damn good burger. It's not a good value for the money, but it's a damn good burger and hands down the best on the upper east (though there's not much competition), They have a good green salad too which is a nice way to start and important given the fact that the burger won't fill you on its own. The bartenders stink. I have great respect for anyone that works hard and goes to work every day, but these guys act like they're saving lives as cardivascular surgeons at Lenox Hill Hospital and not sliding 7.5 ounce beers across the bar. Come on guys, lose the attitude.

The burgers were delicious and perfectly cooked. Also the cottage french fries are worth ordering. A great pub atmosphere and always go there when in the neighborhood.

This is really the ultimate burger. Outside crispy inside juicy on a standard white burger bun. With salted cottage fries this is a burger to dream about. Atmosphere is classic NY pub. The drinks are a little small and icy but hey, have another, and enjoy the game! --born and raised here

JG Melon has the best burger on the UES, the best burger in New York and the best burger anywhere! Perfect size, great taste and don't forget the side of fries - well done, of course. JG Melon, it's simply the best!

for anyone who thought it might be cool to talk down on the magic of melons, please go back to whatever small place you came from. The burger is one of the best in the city and their chili is exceptional. if you talk down on Melons's you shouldn't be allowed to live on the upper east side. GO BACK TO PITTSBURG!

I've been comparing many a burger in NYC and beyond and this one falls short of the rep. I found it distractingly full of gristle and after boasting that they know how to cook a burger to order, my medium rare was closer to medium well (unacceptable, right? right.). Do that to my salmon and we're gonna have words!

Overhyped and overpriced. The burgers are good, but not worth the trouble. I will spare you the hassle of reading another poor review. The negative ones below are pretty dead on.
