Reliable
I went there twice now. The burgers are very good. Most people who frequent Upper East Side probably want brie on there burger. Not me. This is a raw and gritty grill em up joint. I strongly reccomend it. Best burger in the city? NO. Well above average? Yes.

honestly, this place makes the best burgers I have ever had! chili is so great too! and the fries! me and my boyfriend go here all the time....we just love this place!!

best burger place ever
not only does this place have the best burgers that i've ever eaten, but the atmosphere is perfect, the service is friendly, and it is quite literally the most neighborhood place. i love iti go there for lunch, dinner, and late night (circa 2AM) meals. i have been going there as i've grown up and i cannot go two weeks without a melon's burger. i take all of my friends from out of town here and they enjoy. recommended: the chili, burgers, cottage fries, and chocolate chocolate chip cake. it may take a litlte while, but the food is PERFECT so it's worth it. going there for dinner tonight! yummmm

The Best....
burgers in my opinion. Ive tried all the best burgers claimed in New York magazine, but JG's is the winner. Yes the wait is long but worth it. Dont forget to order the cottage fries and make room for a 2nd burger. My favorite place for a burger.

Better than others, still not that good
Another overrated burger spot I have hit in the last week. I like the cottage fries but in general this is another spot living off reputation. Not cheap and usually crowded. Tiny beers too. Avoid.

Yummy Burger :)
Read the reviews and went down there for some quick bite. There was a bit of wait but it was totally worth it. I had some chili which was good and chef's salad was huge (which will be now dinner). The burger was the main reason why my bf and I picked this place and it was totally yummy. Juicy and perfectly seasoned. It looks little small but it totally filled us up. Service was little slow but it's probably because the place was so crowded. I would definitely go back for burgers again. Awesome neighborhood find :)
