I like going to this place with by BF but every time we go we get yummy burgers and a bad attitude from the staff members. I hope they retire soon because it seems like the younger generation working their would actually like to treat the customers properly. I love their delicious bacon cheese burger but there are plenty of other good burgers to be had in the city with less wait and less 'tude.

The question isn't whether the famed JG Melon burger is good, it is. The real question is, is it worth the wait. The answer is no. Try it once if you've never had one, but, then, take a pass unless the place is empty and you can sit right down. Ultimately, the burgers are small, the beers even smaller, the fries are flavorless, the host is gruff, the service is rushed and they are stuck in the past. For example, want ketchup, mustard, it's no problem, but, ask for jalapenos and you're the crazy one. So, is the burger good, sure, but then again, put enough butter and grease on anything and it tastes great. In my opinion, absolutely not worth the wait.

The burgers were juicy and tasty, but I was a bit annoyed they didn’t come with tomatoes or any greens, and fries had to be ordered separately. The service was terrible, our waitress forgot about us several times. Took forever to take our order, never checked on us and finally when we asked for a check, she said oh sure, and disappeared. Then returned 10 minutes later, offering dessert, and had completely forgotten that we had asked for the check already.

Anyone who says that this place is bad doesn't know anything about a good burger, You asked for medium rare, you get it. The fries are crispy, the staff is wonderful. I know it's a loud place, but if you are craving a burger, especially after a long night out, this place is it. How much better could it be the best burgers in NY open super late on weekends?? They cook it right when you order, no frozen burgers, just the perfectly cooked old school with a hamburger bun. And, the Chili is amazing (not to mention the Key Lime pie-that is if you have room) i know there are lines but it's worth the wait. they do try their best to seat you as quickly as possible, and if you can't wait, take a seat at the bar where the bar tenders are attentive and get your burger to you in record speed. Even Oprah named this one of her top ten burgers in the country. THAnk Goodness for Melons!

Food is good as well as prices but the poor service, even when delivering spoils the whole experience. Always busy, many times a wait line, rude phone service due to the hectic environment. Memo to the owners: Maybe is time to open a new location.

I found this place late one night by accident and had no idea I was in for one of the best burgers I've ever had. I've been a few times now and have also discovered that the bowl of chili (with cheese and onions) is damn good.

the best burger in the city..juicy and delicious. the problem with the place is the beer tap. the beers are usually warm and gross. The place is always packed also, so, while you wait for your table, you are drinking warm beers. I sent my beer back my first time there...the bartender responded with "our customers drink them so fast, they dont even notice". The other problem with the place is the bartenders are not good.
