    So many haters

This place has the finest bacon cheese burger in the world, tasty, juicy and perfectly proportioned. Its also got one of the best bloody Mary's in NYC and the fries go perfect with everything. The only reason it doesnt have 5's across the board - haters. If you want size instead of quality and a fake smile for $2.99 go to BK. If you want the best of NY, Melon's is the spot.

    Good Scene

Melon's has been a preppy staple for years - the pink and green logo, the late hours, and the Bloody Mary's cater to a certain cables and khakis crowd. Don't put your name on the list until your party's there. Burgers are good, people watching in fun, service is New York Rude. If you go for the burgers go at an off hour.

    Amazing Burgers

I had heard these burgers were good, but that was an understatement. It was the best burger I have had in NYC. It wasn't too big and wasn't too small. The fries are great too!

    Lovely Jubbly Burgers

Living on the UES for 4 years, I have been to JG Melon countless times and I have to say, they still do the best burgers in NYC! Every time someone comes to visit, I make sure we go there just for the burgers and every time my visitors have loved everything about the burger, the fries... and the service...hey it is New York afterall! To those complaining about the size of the burger, urm, well just get yourself another one and be done with it and stop complaining, as they are by far the tastiest! YUMMM!

    Great Burgers

Awesome burgers, but the fries are bad, it was a long wait and the place was small and dark. But besides the negatives, the burgers were insane and the service is very good and speedy.

Indeed, the best Burgers in NYC

Saturday or Sunday stopovers here at Melons are a weekly delight. The burgers are by far better then the Corner Bistro's burgers (although they are nothing to balk at). Order them rare, and for guys, get two. The burger itself is rich in flavor, I add nothing at all, not even ketchup. It is perfect for nursing a hangover too. Accompany your burgers with a "bloody bull" which adds beef broth to a bloody mary and you are right back on the horse. Atmosphere is a little stuffy, but then again the entire neighboorhood is too. Arrive at a decent time if you expect to make the waiting list (normally a 20 minute wait on the weekends) or sit at the bar and watch the game.

Tasty, but on the whole, overrated.

I saw this place listed among GQ's best burger joints in America, and as it was in my neighborhood, I went over to check it out. The burgers indeed are good, but the place is dark, and as the air is permeated with grease, you get the feeling that the darkness may be obscuring something. Also, no platters -- so those fries will cost you extra, so the tab gets a little pricey for a greasy spoon. And to top it off our waitress was on the surly side, too. I'll be looking for great burgers elsewhere.
